I wont get why his account here still has the "RESPECTED MEMBER" text under his nickname.
I have been wondering this as well myself but didn't post my thoughts until now. I'm guessing it was left initially in the hopes that he would resolve his issues quickly and start communicating. Obviously this is not the case,

Oh, and rest easy guys, now that Oascom (or as I now call him after he spent a few days touring lower Hampshire with me, Wassy) is on his way back to the US I'm sure he'll get pumping out more stuff again!

On a serious note, hopefully you all get what he promised as it looks like work may be being pumped out with a diminishing return.

How did you get him to ship you that special RWI X OASCOM F-91W?

I'm going to ask this too!
Watchmaking is waiting.
Watchmaking is also very complicated.
Sometimes it goes wrong.
We mostly live in hope and do our best to make sure it goes right.

Sometimes we have adverse customers.
From time to time we break that time,
In all we strive to chime with all,
In all and accord, with all at one.

We, the arbiters of the beat, we the technicians,
Of the hour, minute and seconds,
Adjusting, staking, re-alighning,
Resetting the mechanical adjustment of your perfection.

We labour on your dials, your hands, your wind,
We smooth the Rotor of your rep's travail.
We smooth the motion, we correct the burr,
We make your rep, the King of the Hour.

We labour still to make supreme,
The ghost of the fantasy, and make it real.
There is no artifice in this we do.
We are the watchmakers and we do what we do!

And sometimes people are just out-and-out lying asshats who can't take responsibility for their actions, what is your AI-generated point?

Maybe, read it again.
I don't know.
Mate, there is no excuse for holding 10s of 1000s of dollars of people's money and property for up to and over a year and then ignoring emails from both the customer and staff here asking WTF is going on. Please tell me on what level "Sometimes it goes wrong." makes that pardonable because I'm sure those who are still waiting to get their goods back would LOVE to know.

I'll leave it there, I won't even get into the fact that both his over priced dials and the quality of his work had degenerated into crap that was only propped up by his fecking fanbois who were still simping over him while others were out the price of a decent used car (or, a cheap new one).
I have seen this shit so many times over almost 20 years of RWI and it shits me to tears. So many times where a modder has gone off the rails and a core of diehard cult worshipers stick up for the guy even tho people are 100s in the hole with him.

Who was the German AR guy/modder who went bad 12 years or so ago? He ended up getting away with well over 50 k in cash and goods and until we started banning people as obvious shills there were still people sticking up for the guy say :he'd never do that!" Why is it that modders develop this kind of cult following (and it IS cult like, don't tell me it's not) where it gets to the stage that they can do no wrong? It happens time andtime again and it shits me to tears because no matter what we do to protect people fuckwits make it twice as hard by sticking up for scammers and crooks.
I know fort a fact that members have been contacting people who OASCOM owed parts or money to and telling them that all would be good at the very same time that we were trying to get some recompense. Some of those same people are now out money but have not come forward because the devotion and the belief that "everything is fine" continues. The blind devotion of these cultists is beyond comprehension and has led me to realise that, as a rule, people are stupid and P T Barnum was wrong, there is a sucker born every second, not every minute.

I can list a dozen times where fanbois assuring people that everything is fine whether in public or in private has cost members a total of well over 100k and guess what, it's over. From now on, if we declare someone to be dodgy we won't take any argument, start defending them and those folk may find themselves needing a new forum.

Ales fucking Klar, everyone?
