Man this is disappointing. I looked up to Oascom when I started out, so very troubling to see this.

I assume he was taking prepayment for services??
This is exactly why I don’t do that. Work is paid for when completed, and I’m not on the hook for anything that could potentially put me in a hole.

Seems like a lot of very poor business decisions have led to all of this. May be unrecoverable…

Hoping for some sort of resolution. He’s gone silent on what seems like all of his social media.

Whether it is $1, $100, $1,000 or $10,000, imo the value is kinda irrelevant (although clearly substantial here which makes things worse), because a thief is a thief, a scammer is a POS & deserves to be publicly flayed until they make right.

ive always tried to defend the dude on the forum as ive purchased from him and owned many of his pieces over the years. this is unexpected and unacceptable.

Agree. Never understood the blind following of some (I said some, mind you) so-called modders charging crazy prices for common services and in this case charging usury prices for a meteorite dial that can be sourced 5-6 times cheaper, same or even better quality.

What's interesting to me is how his business model changed over the past few years. I've sent a number of watches to him for servicing and never paid in advance. He would complete the work, send me an invoice, I'd pay it then he'd ship.

Process worked well, albeit slow.

Sad to see what's happening, hope it all gets rectified properly.
