Really? I always pay Nikz upfront when he needs to order gen parts from Rolex for me — sometimes up to a thousand — and it’s never turned into a disaster.
thats different. If hes ordering parts hes got to risk capital in doing so. Youre basically buying the parts hes just doing the work for which you pay for after service is complete. that makes sense.

Exactly, that's why I said a deposit is different than taking payment up front.

Exactly, that's why I said a deposit is different than taking payment up front. I take a deposit to order materials, but wouldn't hesitate refunding someone if something happened and I had to be away from my work indefinitely.
Problem is, he has people’s watches/parts that were shipped to him, not just money.

Hi all,
I’m reaching out to address recent concerns and provide some clarity.
Over the past weeks, I’ve faced health challenges that have interrupted my work. While I do have pending builds and projects, I want to reassure you that I have always conducted my work with integrity and will continue to do so—I have never, and would never, act dishonestly.
I had requested additional time from Trailboss to manage these challenges, but a different course of action was taken. Regardless, I’ve been working diligently over the past few days to complete outstanding builds and will continue to do so as my health allows.
To my valued customers: Please rest assured your projects are in progress, and I am fully committed to completing each one to your satisfaction.
I love this craft—working on watches and seeing your reactions to the final builds is my passion. While I understand frustrations and the tendency for speculation in this community, I would kindly ask for your patience and understanding as I work to resolve everything.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. It means so much to me.

Why did you not let everyone know about these challenges before taking on more and more work? How big is your backlog? Are you planning to return watches and money you may not have time to work on? Are you going to work on all of them? If so, how long will that take? Please set some expectations for all of us.

There is not one thing said above that would prevent you from returning tens of thousands of dollars plus people's property.

These are excuses to keep everything and not return anything.

You were warned about your ever increasing time and our concerns. You don't need extra time to return funds to people that you won't be able to service for a very long time.

Your health issues didn't prevent you from continuing to market yourself on Instagram.
I'm so freaking tired of "health concerns" being the excuse for everyone who does this. Where's your God dang self accountability? You keep taking at a faster rate than you are giving. That's a YOU problem, not a health problem.

Fix this

lol okay, did your health issues affect your ability to type up an email or a general broadcast on your social media stating this?

no, ofc you come up with something when your source of income is threatened. this community CLEARLY has given you a lot of leeway and you've taken full advantage of it with your crap dials.

I think Pat has made his point, so let’s give him the space to deliver. This doesn’t need to turn into a witch hunt, even if some folks seem to enjoy that part of it. There’s been a lot of hyperbole here, and honestly, too many people are just tossing logs onto the fire.

One thing I find out of line is the accusation of theft, even with the numbers Mods have shared. I don’t think people fully grasp that for someone like Oascom, $30k could easily be the cost of a single piece of machinery. So, where’s the logic in claiming he’s out here stealing replica watches worth maybe $1,000 or $2,000 in parts? I get that’s a significant amount for some people, but that perception doesn’t justify jumping to conclusions about his motives.

On top of that, no one has presented evidence showing that Oascom has taken money for a service or product and not delivered… eventually.

If people are upset about lead times or poor communication, fair enough—maybe it’s time to look for another service provider. The Mods have already removed him as a trusted provider, so that’s been addressed.

I hear the frustration, and I get it—people want resolution. But let’s not lose sight of what’s actually being said here. Yes, accountability is important, and yes, people want their money or property returned. But framing this as purely an issue of excuses or lack of responsibility oversimplifies what might be a more complex situation.

If there are concerns about the time it’s taking for refunds or returns, fair enough—addressing those should absolutely be a priority. But it’s a leap to assume malintent without clear evidence. Just because someone markets themselves or continues certain aspects of their work doesn’t necessarily mean they’re in a position to resolve everything immediately.

That said, the demand for accountability is valid. If Oascom has commitments they haven’t met, then yes, steps should be taken to fix that. But dragging health into this as though it’s irrelevant feels unnecessarily dismissive. No one knows the full scope of what someone else is dealing with.

Perhaps it would be more helpful to focus on what really matters: ensuring those affected are made whole and reflecting on the lessons that can be learned to prevent this kind of situation in the future. It seems action has already been taken by removing him as a trusted provider, so maybe the next step could be shifting the focus toward constructive solutions rather than further escalating the tension.

@Gaz1a, you say all that as if his customers have not already done all of that for him in the last year. How do you think we got here?

I'm all for giving people chances and breaks. But c'mon. You sound as if this was his first offense.

Without the so-called witch hunt, he would had stayed away & quiet.

and the artisan (he'll remain nameless as I don't know how he'd feel being named here) lives in Kiev
I know exactly who you refer to and yes, he's an artisan alright.

I had requested additional time from Trailboss to manage these challenges, but a different course of action was taken.

Don't you bloody dare! Unless you have replied to an email in the last 6 hours while I have been sleeping you have emails from 2 and 5 weeks ago unanswered. Those emails were requesting updates on the last round of broken promises to the tickets I'm dealing with (only some this mess). These people have not had a reply from you in several weeks after assurances were made during the last round of emails. They also have been trying without a result to email you for weeks. I have been involved directly in the mess for over two months now, not one timeline you have set has been kept.

"Managing these challenges" is easy, either give people what they paid for or return their money and their goods.

Over the past weeks, I’ve faced health challenges that have interrupted my work.
Now it's you who is ill, is it? Dude, I don't give a flying fuck, an email takes 30 seconds, A refund takes 2 minutes. If you or yours are actually ill I'm sorry about that but it isn't a valid excuse for what happened here. Excuses are all I ever see from you, never resolution, only excuses. If we don't see some resolution soon you may well be making those excuses to a tribunal or even a judge and they don't like excuses.

lol okay, did your health issues affect your ability to type up an email or a general broadcast on your social media stating this?
Exactly.

Has anyone ever seen all this "machinery"? Do you really think he takes a solid chunk of meteor and makes these dials from scratch? Not that it is the issue right here and now but I find that very doubtful.

Health issues… uhum
Yeah, it's always "Health issues". I'm very sorry if he or someone else is indeed ill but after almost 20 years of admining this forum, it's become a tired old excuse that has proved to be incorrect the vast majority of the time. Once again, if it is the case that's bad but I have my doubts.
