3135 is the submarine series movement isn't it?I heard that the old 3135 movement can’t fit in the newer clean case. Can you you confirm please? @CTime
3135 is the submarine series movement isn't it?
I also read somewhere , ( maybe from steve) that the case shape has been updated
So SH3285 is based on 3235 right? So the lift angle on timegrapher is 53° right?I think this has to be an SH3285 bro, for several reasons.
- SH stud screws are on the side of the stud. Where VS/DD (and VR too) has used stud screws they are on the end of the stud (see red dots in pics above).
- SH routes the hairspring anti-clockwise from the stud, VS/DD routes the hairspring clockwise from the stud.
- SH is the only other "true clone" 3285 known to exist. There have been some slight variations in these SH3285s, including starting out as a 3186 engraved as a 3285.
That the SH takes some gen parts is good, but pretty much every SH part is clearly inferior to the DD parts, as @CTime's excellent pics show.
@Mark1937
You put this 3285 movement on case CF?I bought a 3285 clone from a Chinese contact a month ago, I perceived a high quality of materials, I would say that to me it looks exactly like a movement made from VS3235 then transformed into gmt 3285. I can tell you with certainty that this movement I bought accepts bridge and balance wheel gen. you will see many things that this movement has in common with VSF such as the quality of the engravings and the classic serial.
From what I see, this movement I bought is different from what is presented here and from what I see on Jtime
Yes both DD and SH 3285 are based on 3235. 53° is what the gen lift angle is. The rep movements should be in the same ballpark. I've measured the VS3235 lift angle to be 55° so it's probable the DD will be similar. Those two balances look identical. So SH3285 is based on 3235 right? So the lift angle on timegrapher is 53° right?
And sh3285 C+ which lift angle? Are you able to measure that too?Yes both DD and SH 3285 are based on 3235. 53° is what the gen lift angle is. The rep movements should be in the same ballpark. Yes any balance can have its lift angle measured. And sh3285 C+ which lift angle? Are you able to measure that too?
Hi Trailboss99:I have one on the way to me, I will be able to tell you first hand soon enough.
Who else has any points they would like me to specifically look at when the watch arrives?
The pallet forks look completely different. The DD3285 pallet fork looks like the gen 3235/3285 pallet fork; whereas the SH3285 pallet fork looks like a gen 3135 / vr3235 pallet fork. To me this implies the lift angles will be different.Yes both DD and SH 3285 are based on 3235. 53° is what the gen lift angle is. The rep movements should be in the same ballpark. But vr/sh3285 have same start serial number vsfThe pallet forks look completely different. The DD3285 pallet fork looks like the gen 3235/3285 pallet fork; whereas the SH3285 pallet fork looks like a gen 3135 / vr3235 pallet fork. To me this implies the lift angles will be different.
I saw that bro but two other things to consider - the escape wheels DD/VS are the same (not gen-spec), and the DD/VS pallets themselves are not thinned like the gen. So really only one way to know for sure...The pallet forks look completely different. The DD3285 pallet fork looks like the gen 3235/3285 pallet fork; whereas the SH3285 pallet fork looks like a gen 3135 / vr3235 pallet fork. To me this implies the lift angles will be different.
Serial number match just means the mainplate, not an indicator of any other parts sourcing. But vr/sh3285 have same start serial number vsf
I think Shangai used the same movements as vsf and made some changes to make them 3285
No, it can't fit, they've updated so many places.I heard that the old 3135 movement can’t fit in the newer clean case. Can you you confirm please? @CTime
As I love the VS3235 movement, but the movement can’t be buy easily as vr3235 when it’s time that need to replace.
Do the reading mate...insert, triangle, bezel click...the knowledge is all in this subforumdoes this mean that clean is discontinuing the older VR3186 models? Apart from the movement are there any other confirmed updates?
Shanghai doesn't make watches, they are a movement company.I think Shangai used the same movements as vsf
(Cant hold on that one, sorry....)Shanghai doesn't make watches, they are a movement company.
