True, but...

Yes, the AliX cases have a press fit tube, but I just get a screw in tube, epoxy (or similar) it into the case, and all is well. I've done at least 10 watches like this. No tapping needed. Takes 5 minutes of effort, 24 hours of fully curing, and done.

However, I will say the Raffles cases are a lot less effort, just more expensive.

Did you have to do anything special to get the pressed in tube out?

AliX case just came, tried to pry the bezel off the usual way with a knife and I accidentally bent it, lol.

Now the bezel isn’t really rotating as it should due to being wonky. No problem though as I view this one as a trial run for my journey.

How do you guys get the bezel off? Insert is already there, maybe I need to get the wire out to get the bezel off.

To be continued.

The alix case has a wire spring unlike gen
You cannot take the bezel out with a knife

You need to remove the insert, remove the glue tape, then use a small screwdriver to take out the wire

Then put the case in a plastic bag and remive the bezel. There is a small spring and a cylinder. That’s the click system.

I put the case in aceton and popped the insert off and succeeded taking the tension wire for the bezel. I’m considering not putting the spring and cylinder back as the click system isn’t doing it for me.

Will try some case reshaping during the weekend :) it will be my first time sooo this will be interesting. If it goes well I might share haha

Haven’t done inside of the CGs as I didn’t pull the crown out. I could have gone thinner in the CGs but better be safe than sorry for now.
Took about 50 minutes to reshape, plus minor polishing with a dremel to get it to this stage.

The bezel will not hold in place and will turn wildly without the click.
You can improve the click by putting just a little dab of silicone grease on the bottom of the bezel where the teeth are

For the Aliexpress cases I'm not sure if anyone else can share this experience but there are 2 types I've found, one has a wider crown guard and a much thicker rehaut while the other has better proportions. The one linked earlier is from the thicker rehaut one.

You definitely need to share which is which. The one I have has good proportions, I think.

There is a way to do the inside of the crown guards without removing the crown tube. You just need one of those disc holders with a screw for the Dremel and some small sanding discs. Center punch the sanding disc and it will fit between the crown tube and the inside. Just don't go too fast on the speed as these sanding discs aren't as sturdy as the cutting discs.

I didn’t even think of that! Thanks for the input, now I don’t need to compromise the integrity of the case by pulling out the tube and gluing a in a new one.

Sorry if it's not a good explanation but the material around the crownguard sticks out a bit more, on the 1st case which was linked earlier the guard sticks out past the bezel on the crown while the second case has the crown right under it. I didn't get any proper pics of the rehaut but from this angle I think it is easy to show how the first case has a much thicker rehaut that's more visible. Both bezels have about the same tolerances but do make slightly different noises but overall I'd say the cases are the same. Both have poorly applied cyclops that were mineral when I tested but the 2nd case does have worse alignment. I think these are good builds for 14060s or something similar as they have drilled lugs and the no cyclops option is nicer. From memory packaging was practically the same but the second case set did come with springbars already in which was convenient.

Thank you
I will try that case
The crystal does not bother me as I replace it

The flush crown is nice though
Have you tried to remove the tube? Is it screw or press?

I haven't tried but I'd assume it's a press like the other cases? They all seem to be made to about the same standards but its just a difference with the crownguard area.
