In total, the material for the watch is around ~$150. It’s closer to $200 with a bracelet. It’s not perfect, but for a first build on a budget, it’s ok I guess.Looks like you’ve got a cracking budget build. Damn this hobby is fun ha!

do the AliX cases fit raffles bezel insert?
Yeah, it’s a tension wire. What kind of bezels do these have? Wire clip?
Been meaning to ask if said generic Rolex crown would be plug and play or if you’d need to swap the crown tube as well? I’ve seen a couple Rolex crowns on AliX.
I destroyed the original press fitted crown tube for the case when I was going to do inner CGs, can’t say if it was plug n play as I received AliX crown later. I was forced to use a new threaded one, a little epoxy does the job.Been meaning to ask if said generic Rolex crown would be plug and play or if you’d need to swap the crown tube as well? Huge thanks for this tip @GeonorThere is a way to do the inside of the crown guards without removing the crown tube. You just need one of those disc holders with a screw for the Dremel and some small sanding discs. Center punch the sanding disc and it will fit between the crown tube and the inside. Just don't go too fast on the speed as these sanding discs aren't as sturdy as the cutting discs.
I just use sand paper and do the CGs by hand. But yeah if you’re careful a dremel will work as well.
I use a flat file but I always remove the tube as I like to lower the crown position a bit
Do you re tap or epoxy the new tube in?I use a flat file but I always remove the tube as I like to lower the crown position a bit
