If you could only have ONE Rolex, what would it be?

I would like to get a single Rolex to represent the brand in my collection.

and I don’t necessarily want to get what everyone else gets

126720VTNR for me, Green is the Rolex color and is not necessarily wanted by everyone (I imagine the insults that will come my way 😅 )

I'm waiting for a Clean Rep, but I think I'll get the Gen, since the prices are slowly becoming more acceptable...if they become really convincing, a nice jubille will come for me.

My 2 cents

So many choices! I’m new to the watch scene and probably change my mind on the daily. So for now the Rolex I most want is… yes please.

Where the bluegrass sways!
40mm day-date in white gold or platinum. That’s on watch to cover all occasions!

I have the 36mm yellow gold it is gen circa mid year 1978 the watch is full back finished “FROM ROLEX FACTORY” , diamond bezel also from factory, gold diamond dial, open 6 and 9 date wheel, quick set date but no quickset day movement, presadent bracelet, sapphire crystal, I have the complete set box with the paperwork also in box set the Rolex notepad this all in outer cardboard box!

Small follow up this watch was bought from AD in late summer 1978 by my Father. Some have said Rolex never did full bark finish on the day-date but I was with my father when he bought this watch, is was new never worn in the AD’s showcase. Just wanted to add that info

Rolex 1530:

Or less expensive & scarce, a 16610LV preferably a RRR version (I don’t care about Fat 4)

I really like this watch, it has a unique design and interesting history. Sadly, it is not repped😢
Considering how few were manufactured, I was surprised to find 16 listed on Chrono24. Prices range from $14.9K to 30K ("museum quality") averaging around 18K, which I think is not bad considering its rarity and heritage.

Most probably this one, it would be a sub in any case.

2 liner? sorry, what does that mean?
Only 2 lines of writings on the dial. This and the no date makes the watch look cleaner and more elegant in the eyes of many of this 14060 fans (me included). However, I think the 114060 looks more sporty and has more presence on the wrist. So if I could only have one Rolex it would be either the 114060 or the 6263 Big Red.

If its 1 Rolex it has to be Black Sub 126610LN or White Daytona 116500LN (or 126500LN if you want the wait a little til model is made perfect)

Ahh yes I tottaly agree, looks much cleaner without the 2 extra lines and the cyclops! It's a beautiful watch indeed.

The width od«f the 114060 l is 40mm or 41mm?

114060 is 40mm same as the 14060 but it has more présence because it’s more shiny with the ceramic bezel and the more polished steel.

The 124060 is 41mm but I like the 40mm better.

If we’re talking Rolex the 16613lb is the one. If we’re talking Rolex reps the 114060 is the one. The bluesy is the best looking watch Rolex ever created in my opinion. I’ve never seen a rep maker get both the dial and bezel colors right. The dials typically have a purple hue to them unlike the gens. The newer 6 digit versions with ceramic bezels look okay but with them it’s the bracelets plating that looks off. It seems there’s always one piece of the puzzle that doesn’t fit. The no dates don’t have so many variables and rep makers seem to have better luck with them.
