@Karbon74 Idk how to make spider dials. I guess gloss varnish + oven could do the trick but never tried.
@matzemedia Your build looks good! To fade the bezel further you should put it under the sun while submerged in bleach. I personally found the JKF crown really poor quality, but maybe it was updated (my JKF was from 2020).

I bought some 5513 dials here a few weeks ago. So now I have the choice between 3 dials for the setup.
left: supplied JFK
middle: yuki
right: another JFK

I am not 100% convinced of any dial. Personally, I am a fan of colourful watches and so I chose the yuki. For the hands I go with some from Ali. They are compatible to eta movements and already in a yellow color. For my opinion it lookes a bit boring. What do you think?

This hands look nice, you know the exact reference? I tried lot ot them and for the moment not find the good ones 😅

Initially, I changed the JKF crystal with a superdome tropic 19 crystal. Personally, I don't like this dome-style, so I changed it now to a more flat curve. Here you can see the different:

left: original JKF
middle: XS303.472 (Super Dome) by Sternkreuz
right: XS305.451 by Sternkreuz

And that is how it looks like:

Got the Cousins deliver in just a few days. I was impressed.

Now, the cousins bezel insert does not match well with the domed cousins crystal. About 0.2mm more on the crystal and the assembly does not snap. I kept the over faded cartel insert It grew on me.

Other issue, the fat springbars are too big for the endlinks. Need to figure this out now

There is you best solution. Some people cut them to make the spring bars fit but it makes the holes a bit too fragile and they break.

finally kept it on bracelet with the stock endlinks and spring bars... Natos are not for me. I might buy a nice black leather and definitely the Raffles rivets

One question, I removed all adjustable links. But I only had 3. hence one side is longer. Worse the microadjusts are on the shorter side. Any ideas? I am thinking of inversing the bracelet.

EDIT : I reversed the bracelet. It fits good now

ok, I just faced my first serious stump.
The tube thread is damaged. I had not removed it at the start, so it caught a random file cut.

plus I did not glue it strong enough and it just came off 😭😱

anyway, i put the thing together again but now
1. I lost a movement holder screw 😑
2. I need to change the tube...the watch works but my sense of worksmanship cannot let me leave this like that.

question to the team:
1. any clue where I can buy this screw, what are the specs?
2. raffles or athaya for the tube?

Personally, I'm always losing those little movement holder screws and the tabs, I picked up this and it's a lifesaver:
Not sure if there are different specs, but these have worked on everything I've tried them on. Well worth the cost to have a bunch of different sizes on hand.
Can't help with the tube, although I suspect you might be able to clean up the threads if it's not too bad. Sometimes that works (at least on other things I've built, non-watch related). Try finding a nut the same size and pitch as the crown and try threading it on from either direction if you can.

@Karbon74 If you are ok with not having a 702 crown, then you should check post #56.
Easily found on AE for around €20 and really well made. If you go with Athaya you will need to buy a crown too and honestly I was slightly disappointed with mine, but is the only 702 option atm other than going gen.

@Megahz1

i bought the 24 7030 tube hoping that the stock crown would fit.
I also found a 116610 crown and tube on Ali
I will buy it too.

I dont really mind 1:1 time fidelity. It's my first build. So, I take it as practice.

with the tools and consumables I bought, I could have ordered a nice ready made 5513 which would have been better than mine...but what's the fun in that 😁

the tube came off today when I screwed the crown 😤

so this evening I took it out and polished off the raw damaged edges and worked the thread as good as I could.

Then i glued the tube in with hypo cement. I will let it rest until tmrw. Hopefully, it will work out until I get the new tube.

I must admit that I am sorely tempted to buy a new 5513 from Marv and try again...but I don't want to give up either

I bought a 24 7030 from Ali and a 7mm from Raffles. Let's see which one will work out.
