Does the Gen movement make as much noise as this new clone? The rotor seems quite noisy on this rep.

I guess IWC don't use cheap Chinese bearings for the gen's.
So probably the gen is more quiet [emoji6]

A drop of Moebius D5 will solve that problem.

\I bought the D5 but I have no idea how to go about oiling the rotor. Do you have a tutorial on that?

So mine arrived a little while ago, lovely watch but ya, the rotor is noisy. Night and day compared to the Asian 2836 in the Noob PO I received at the same time.

I have a couple of 7750 based watches and used a toothpick to apply a tiny amount of silicone grease on the bearing to quiet rotor down a little. Once, I visited a local watchsmith and he showed me a swiss 7750, it was also a bit noisy. I remember it was Panerai Ferrari. Although it was probably around 10 yrs old, and my rep Pam 299 was new noise level were very similar. I was told a little noise is ok and normal for 7750, so it should be for this watch since it is also based on 7750.
Thank you chris for showing us 79350 clone breakdown, great review.

Hi guys, I would like to ask the following question. Can someone tell what each of the labelled parts on the movement are? I'm mostly interested in what does A does, but any explanation of all the parts would be very helpful. Thanks!

A.
B.
C.

A regulates the rate, just as C does.
B regulates the beat error. Do not touch B until you know what you are doing on a timegrapher.

Wow! Thanks Chris for the detailed review. I guess with the new movement construction, the height of the rep movement should be almost the same as the gen 79350 right? This should pave way for a gen movement swap without further modifications for stem/crown height?

I got my blue version , really happy with quality except the subdial depth. I am new to rep watches, will it be possible to put SWF dial ? Do rep factories sell sub-dials ?

I'd like to see a direct comparison to a gen on the depth, but I agree.. not sure why the gold numbers one shows more depth on the subdials than the blue version.

I really wish ZF would nail the subdial pattern correctly. The shine kills almost every IWC rep compared to gen. They could even see it in comparison to gen when they were making it, but continued the "error" on almost every line they repped.

I know that the sundial shine is not technically a perfect match to gen but I think it looks better. The gen dials look a little flat and the zf subdials catch the light and give the dial a little life.

Not really, but in the north east it rains and it snows and with a toddler and such not having a waterproof watch is as pointless as having two assholes. Lol

Hahahhaha. I couldn't agree more. Between the rain and the newborn spitting up, all my watches need to be waterproof
