First of all thank you for the break down of the movement. Great pics and very informative. Just one thing i'd like to mention.. you keep saying "it's still a 7750" like it's a bad thing but original IWC movement for this watch is also 7750 based with roughly the same mod as on this rep movement. The mod that Chinese did was 95% copy of the original cal 79350, so it's very close to the real deal.
This is the pic of the real deal without some gears for secs@6.. as you can see the approach is exactly the same:

There must be a misunderstanding, 7750 is one of the most robust movements available for the number of parts it contains... The mod on the new IWC is great. But what was being said is that its still an (A)7750 which can mean that the chinease version is not as robust or that there can be flaws even in the 6-9-12 normal subdials version. But i think this movement will still be very solid though..

As i mentioned, give it a service and it truly deserves the name A79350 (Asian 79350 for IWC Caliber 79350). The mod is very similar to the sec@6 module from IWC. In the past I considered to buy a gen, with this nice replica it will not be necessary anymore.

Excellent review. I would love to see how the case fares in a waterproof test. I have been eyeing one of these for a long while now. Thank you Chris.

Great review and lovely watch!

Every time I see all of those small part laying around I am getting more and more respect for people like you who just take them apart (and put hem back together in good order of course ):notworthy:

Now those are some news!
As soon as I saw the photo of the gear train in the first post, I knew they have done an incredible job! This is virtually as close to gen, as we could have hoped for since YEARS!
I might order one in the next few days. Holy moly am I excited!
Could someone review the dimensions of the watch?

P.S. Congrats to ZF! They seem to have nailed it. Rep of the year 2017 award nominee in my eyes :)
P.P.S. I just noticed from Chris' photos they updated the reversing wheel as well to something that looks very gen spec! Holy smokes, this is getting better and better!

Agree! But it will have a hard time becoming rep of the year since another manufacturer (VSF) came up with a working rattrapante mechanism for the panerai reps...(Pam 213).

Can't wait to have my 3714 on the wrist, should happen this week... ;)

Not really, but in the north east it rains and it snows and with a toddler and such not having a waterproof watch is as pointless as having two assholes. Lol
