I know that the sundial shine is not technically a perfect match to gen but I think it looks better. The gen dials look a little flat and the zf subdials catch the light and give the dial a little life.

Agree!
So IWC should start to rep the rep dial :biggrin-new:

Which is the last ZF version of the 3714, the V3?

Thanks.

When will they use this movement with new transfer gears for the Daytona?

Slimmer movement which would mean they could use the case set from the faux chrono 23j movement.

Just thinking out loud

Well, could as well be a good approach for the AP ROO, which is much too thick too. However, the IWC looks way more decent than both of them anyway. :B:

Wow! Thanks Chris for the detailed review. I guess with the new movement construction, the height of the rep movement should be almost the same as the gen 79350 right? This should pave way for a gen movement swap without further modifications for stem/crown height?

Interesting question. The problem is: Chris is not active here anymore.

Anyone else with experiences on the swap from A79350 to gen 79350 in this new case?

I'm ordering another 3714-47 this week. I'll be swapping the A79350 movement to gen 79350 once I get my hands on it. I'll keep you posted.

I'll try the swap to gen 79350 in a few days. All gen parts are on the way.

Interesting idea: it should be possible, to swap the existing "old seconds gear train" A7750 inside an IWC Pilot Chrono 3878 with the new A79350. So the running second on 3878 (and others with ceramic case) should be stable.

Yes. I only put gen dial and a gen hand set into the watch and kept the rep movement. It works fine for me. Possibly I'll change the tachy later.

The gen movement does not fit without a little case modification, as another user told me.

Nice review. Thank you very much. The sec@6 was holding me back from getting one.
