Where I need to be.
Good afternoon gentlemen, the side of the bracelet has this part starting to fall down. Any ideas to fix it
this is a common flaw of rep AP bracelets. The pins between links are supposed to be embedded and then the surfaces sanded down so that the ends of the pins blend with the surfaces and aren't seen. I have rectified quite a number of these.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some help with QC for an APSF15500 - for me it looks great. Read on RWI that there could be an issue with datewheel quicksetting, and to check that on QC. Since I don't know if it's a NOGO to post QC links in here, i'll just wait for an answer to pm the link :geek:

Politics, lol.

QC pics won’t be able to tell you if there is an issue with the datewheel quicksetting. This is caused by a part of the datewheel being too thick and the datewheel will need to be sanded down in that spot(s) in that case and you cannot see the issue on static pics trust me.

Btw it is not a matter of “politics” to disallow QC pics in general. It is a matter of consideration and courtesy to the community and buyer responsibility. There are a few reasons but among them:

1. Watch is YOURS. If you do not know if something is wrong, it is your responsibility to learn about the flaws and concerns.

2. Watch is YOURS. You need to be the only one who needs to be happy with it, not the other 250,783 members.

3. The section will be cluttered with QC pics of individuals if everyone is allowed to post general ones and they take up space but do not add value to the section. Every individual is responsible for the watch they order, not the community.

4. The dealer is selling the watch to an individual and the approval of the community isn’t included in the purchase price. Reps aren’t perfect most of the time and as long as the owner is happy with it, the deal should be done.

There are other reasons but if you read the reasons I listed above it should be enough explanation on why general QC pics won’t be allowed here and especially here in this section. There is no politics involved I can assure you of that.

Makes sense to me, thanks for your thoughts on this. Politics was the wrong word, etiquette would have made more sense in this regard. :)

Is there a way to add a seconds hand to this watch? The RoyalOak face with the window placed in this photo usually has a seconds hand, am I right? If so, is it possible to add a seconds hand without messing with the movement of the watch too much?

I think that’s trying to mimic the 15202 but in a larger case size it seems. Doesn’t look like the center second hand has a place to go so my guess is no.

The hands are all slightly different and due to the caliber used, the gen hands are not interchangeable without modding.

I have a predicament:

For weeks I have been waiting for ZF to produce a new batch of 15500 blue dial. I have been offered APS with very little wait for QC. However, I chose ZF for a reason, as the dial is definitely better, as well as the date wheel font. Though I do understand that the APS has better case finishing overall.

I am getting impatient. The dealer says that they do not know when ZF would have a new batch.

I know it is my watch, but I would like some opinions and perspective. Which should I choose? Anything I am missing between the two? Are the differences all that large in person?

Thank you!

Images very welcome to show any differences.

I gather both have good dials, neither is perfectly gen-like. AP steel has a distinct brushing to it and APSF does that better than ZF. I.e. for overall appearance I would go for APSF. Also, replacing the dial would appear a far smaller project than getting the entire watch brushed to gen-like with the help of a skilled modder.

In the end though, it is the person carrying the watch that makes the impression, and not vice-versa.

For AP, it is more about the wearer than the watch details.
You do need a reasonably good base watch I agree but the rest is about confidence. The reps these days are good enough visually and it won't actually matter than one small detail or another is off, because the wearer will always know its a rep anyway.

For the Offshore 42mm chronograph, the plots are 4.5mm intially right? Looking to buy the plots so I can try a rubber strap instead of bracelet on my new chrono. Thanks.
