Have to say that I am really interested in how you go with thus.
Having some logistical issues...the dials I bought are too small...Apparently, Rolex had many more case sizes than the 26 and 30mm cases I knew of, so will probably make some gilt decal dials until I can find some of the right size. I've got 3 gen cases and 3 AliX cases and a small (20mm?) Tudor case, but none of the dials I have work.

THIS is what happens when you go off the menu and take for granted the service and compatibility that Raffles et all offer, lol.

That said, I also picked up some gen 36mm cases (2 Datejust and a bubbleback), so will probably turn those into 1016/6350/etc when I get a few projects in the queue done.

With a 7836 from Mary, i am really annoyed by the 358 end link, they not fit the case, need a rework, bracelet IS too sharp too, thé clasp quality is better than raffle...
What size is that? It looks small, like what I'm trying to do for the lady friend, lol.

For a girls watch the 32 mm Tudor boys watch case which will house a 2824-2 is useful.

I looked at a couple of those, still might get, but hate letting the gem Rolex dials go to waste.

The NH05 is a great fit in the 26mm case, too.

Some parts are trickling in, so threw some together into a watch using a gilt printed dial and AliX hands that I lumed, Gen 5500 case, and a blue NATO strap, from my box of random straps.

Just in time for the Sunday dinner shot.

Good morning, I would like some advice from someone who knows more about this forum than I do (that is, almost everyone :)) I saw this case on Raffles, I would like to start a new build of the 1016, what do you think? I like it but I haven't seen an explorer 1016 with this type of case around...

Domed bezel and saphire are not 1016 baseline, if you want to find a case for a build straight from raffle, go for the acrylic one with the smooth bezel, otherwise, if you want a custom build with gen spec bezel/crystal, you Can use this one as a donor midcase, but it dépend your goal 😉

Brief update from our Guy at Raffles.

He now offers Gilt Pencil hands for your vintage sub and explorer builds in ETA and NH and also Ranger hands to go with his small rose and shield dials .

As soon as I finished a Tudor Ranger build with AliX hands...lol.

Although I'm waiting for a couple crystals, so maybe I'll crack it open and use the Raffles version...
