Not waterproof? :-( Think I bought shit?

You should always pressure test a rep before swimming with it.
When you get it you will know for sure if the crown is a problem. If the lever close with a " snap" it is fine - if it still is loose when closed you have a problem.

Changing the crown could solve the problem. But as discussed before: where to get?

Another solution could be to have the CG machined ...remove a very small amount where it contacts the case to have it seat tighter.

My watch has the fat crown but I never felt it was closing with a snap and I had it tested ..it passed 4ATM with no problems. The watch smith said it was OK for casual swimming.

Going to a watch smith
to check a rep.?

1: where else are you going to get it checked ?
2: He was rather impressed with the movement and the general build quality ... these aren't $20 flea-market copies
3: probably not a good idea to go to a gen Pam dealer though ...:greedy:

I just bought a new 382 with seagull movement, I am not sure whether this is KW or ZF. But the one thing I noticed, the crown is sticking out by some kind of s/s stick. The crown's a bit thinner if compared to my old KW 'first batch' version. Also, I noticed, the lever feels very loose when opening or closing it. On the contrary, my KW first batch version's lever is not loose at all, it feels good when opening and closing the lever.

Question is, would it be possible for me to swap either the whole CG between these two version, or just swap the old crown with the new crown (with the stick) ?

I never hear anything about the 507, just the 382. Why is that? Seems very similar.

numbers are nice and straight ..how about a pic of the crown and movement.

I don't know if I would take a chance like that though ..if package is lost or watch is DOA you're SOL.
BTW ...what does LITE version mean ?

Yea I took the risk for the reduced price and got lucky. The lite version has the lesser 23j movement instead of the 7750 clone..What should I be looking for on the crown?
here is the other pics.

That is the Seagull ST2555 movt mate, and that is among the best in terms of robustness :)

People need to start using the search menu a bit more. It will help for unnecessary post in threads that have more than likely spoken about it before.

Well it appears that you got a nice example IMO.

The people who are going for absolute accuracy in a rep find a thin crown to be unacceptable as there are examples with a fatter crown and are more like the gen.

Yours appears to be a thin one but the hex nut between the crown and case doesn't look to be extended too far out.

Does the lever feel tight against the crown when you close it ?

On the plus side, your 15-30-45 numbers appear straight and you do have a chamfer on the CG ..another sticking point for some.

Without opening up another debate on the subject, some people prefer the Seagull movement (like in your watch) over the A7750 ... (myself included after researching the subject here.)

The price you paid is extremely good for a fine watch.

Wear it in good health.

Pj788, I think I just bought the exact same version that you have over there!

Okay, I wonder, how many makers of 382 is really out there?
I've known KW, I've heard ZF, and this version is being made by V6F ??
