This is getting out of hand. Accept the watch and you'll be thrilled with it when you get it. This is why most TD's strongly discourage re-posting QC pics.

Sorry I thought this thread was titled 'PAM382 Bronzo- QC pics allowed thread'.

I noticed that the 15, 30 and 45 markers were misaligned with the 15 being the most noticeable before anyone else pointed it out but it is pretty obvious even to a novice like me. When I discovered this place, I was amazed and impressed with all the detailed reviews and analysis of each model rep from each factory. Reading some of ALE's reviews really really really impressed me with all the details of each flaw of basically every rep.

But it seems expected by most here that if you get a qc pic with noticeable flaws you should just accept it anyways and not worry about the small details..

Pease keep in mind this is just an opinon of a newbie just discovering this hobby and I am starting to come around..

I'm realizing I need to up my horology experience/knowledge and understand that the fun part can be upgrading the flaws and hopefully start modding/frankening. Just want to start with a good base watch since I don't know diddly squatt.

This seems to be very common with the bronzo reps but I think it would be far less apparent than enlarged pics. I accepted mine with a little misalignment of the 15. But then again, if all three are misaligned it may bother you.

Yeah, really thinking of just accepting it but that 15 marker! lol. On top of that all three are misaligned too. Don't know if I have it in me to wait for a 3rd watch QC pics tho...
Already asked TD to source a rolex datejust2 to add to my order.

I agreed, but all the markers misaligned, therefore it is not acceptable mate.

Yea I'm trying to convince myself to accept it..please talk me it out of it

Just tell your TD to understand that you don't want to be excessively picky but you feel the numbers are unacceptable. Better than accepting something that you know will always bug you. I think that minor flaws, imperfections are acceptable and may occur with use anyway. However, this is possibly one that you will notice too frequently. If you are buying more than one from him, he will probably not be as bothered. I've rejected a couple from Sead but I also purchased a dozen from him.

Thanks for the advice, I bought my first 3 reps from the same TD. This Bronzo is the third rep, and asked TD to source me a fourth watch yesterday. I plan to keep dealing with my same TD too.

MARKERS ON BEZEL!!! I know this isn´t the right place - but since the markers often is a problem on both ZF and KW would anyone know how to remove the bezel on both? I have seen a great tutorial about correcting the numbers ( both with screw and drilling:unsure:…which requires a great deal of self-confidence). But removing the ZF bezel…. I can´t find it.
Thanks in advance
Chr

It should pry right off with a bezel removal tool which you can find on ebay. its sort of like a small scraper. then you flip it over and see if the markers are glued in or pressed in from the top. You can put them in nail polish remover for an hour and the markers and dots should break loose a bit easier. not sure what that would do to the bronze but I wouldn't worry about it. use ketchup and warm water to clean bezel all up after removal. hope this helps.... realigning the markers back on takes some skill so be careful.

The funny thing is genunine subs often have slightly misaligned markers. These reps truly are 1:1 ;)

Hi all any luck with the new runs from KW and ZF?

I'm trying to decide which one is better at this point.

I am waiting on a second set of QC pictures as the first watch the 15 and 30 markers were really quite crooked. The crown was sticking out too far from the body also.
These are all little things I might have missed if I didn't read this thread...so ..thanks very much to all respondents in this thread.

Having said that I do notice that when the min markers are crooked it seems to always be the 15 and sometimes the 30 but rarely the 45 min markers. IS there any reason why that happens ?

I also notice that there are quite a few perfect ones out there so patience is a virtue. Someone mentioned that the when you point out what's not to your liking, the TD looks out for these things when choosing a watch for you. Is that assumption correct or does he just order one and whatever he gets he takes a picture of ?

While I'm here I'll sneak a few unrelated questions in ...which size screw driver is needed to remove the straps and buckles on the Pan 382 and also the time grapher readings ..most of the readings are self-explanatory but amplitude and lift angle has me stumped. What is that for ?

I received my 382 from Sead today. As confirmed with the QC pic, there's a very slight rotation of the 15 marker. I accepted it because even a 382 pic on Panerai.com gallery demonstrates the same rotation. Also browsing through Martin Wilmsen's gen pics, not all of the bronzos have straight number markers.

From Panerai.com & mine below: (color is off d/t fluorescent light & iPhone)

For those concerned about color representation on QC pics. Heres a shot of mine demonstrating its actual color (vs QC pics previously posted).

Something about the Bezel on the KW that irritates me beyond belief. No polished edge on the KW. The Zf has the correct polished edge IMO. Nevertheless enjoy the watch. Leave it outside for 2 weeks and watch the patina grow. Cheers!

They also do not have the chamfered corners on the CG but I'm not sure any do (other than gen). This is even visible in the pics above.
If you take a look at gen images in the Panerai gallery (http://www.panerai.com/en/collectio...-3-days-automatic-bronzo---47mm_pam00382.html), the difference in the CG and the edge of the bezel are obvious. These are definitely not super reps. Hopefully an improved version will be available some day because this beautiful watch deserves a bit more gen-like detail.

Now time to work on the patina.

Bro go back 20 plus pages ago. I have discussed the crown guard many many times. Its an easy fix. The Bezel edge is impossible to "fix". The Crown itself looks like they went back to a "better" version than a few months ago. Its one of those rep flaws that you will have to live with. Tell me this, does your crown guard lever snap into place when closing? or does it shut very east with no resistance?
