I like that particular aftermarket buckle. It seems a very different shade of bronze to the watch however.

Is that a KW? I only ask because several have seemed to have the CG lever problem that you have highlighted.

Yeah it's a kw..really not feeling the color differences tho

Just placed an order for a KW PAM 382 from Sead. Will post QC pics when I get them.

My recently acquired ZF is back at the factory for changing of entire case set - due to failure in the Bronze. Will post pic. as soon as it arrives… I guess it would be ok to ask for QC pictures before it leaves China again?

So do you think your watch was plated with Bronze? From your pics its hard to tell. Would have to really scuff a spot on the watch to tell.

Well it is difficult to tell. For sure the bezel was shiny like steel on the edge between 45 and top. And it was not oxidation - tried lemonjuice and ketchup. One thing was when you looked between case and bezel - just where they meet - there was a line on the bezel that looked like steel?
I also asked here if anyone could see any bronze parts when looking through the crystal on the back? On mine everything was steel?
But my TD says that it is a failure in the casting and they will change it - ZF is solid bronze....

Im not sure the back of the case through the glass you can see Bronze. I do know that the when your TD said the Casting Failed is a lie. Bronze is Bronze no matter how you look at it. The Bezel is plated from your pics you sent me a few weeks ago. Its very easy to spot. This should put to rest that the ZF does have batches out there with Plating.

I will for sure test the New case when it arrives.

In addition, I do not believe that any "plated" 382's are coated with real bronze plating. I don't even know if that is possible to do? IMO, if the components are generating a relatively normal patina, it is real bronze and any issue may be more with the exact bronze formulation.

For example, the new bronze Tudor Blackbay will have aluminum content in the bronze, to somewhat inhibit the patina process.

Yes it is possible to plate metal

Interesting! I wonder if the Chinese would go to that extreme? The cheap plated bronzos I've seen photos of, do not generally appear to be plated with real bronze.

I wouldn't put it past them not to do such a thing to save money on real bronze metal bricks to have a machine C&C the case and bezel. When they probably already have an abundance of steal cases available why not send them out for Bronze Coating. Seems Logical to me.
