Omega Speedmaster 2013 Special Edition

In fact I'd better give him a 145.022 model cause he's born 1990 ... but sword hands of the 2013 special edition are such beauties.
Considering the backcase I will have to swap with one like this

Problem is :
199 € on ebay
or 130$ at ofrei ... only that seamonster engraved but I can engrave the text myself
If anybody knows where I can buy a cheaper case back (with the see monster) :helpsmilie:

At that price point, might as well buy a rep of the speedmaster/seamaster and retrieve the caseback from one of those . The differences don't vary that much

A comparison would be great. I don't recall seeing a side by side with gen moonwatch before

Could you explain the functions of the 3 subdials in the 2013 edition? With the ST-19 movement, I'm not entirely sure if the functions even fully work as a chronograph.

After reading your post I checked the quartz on ToroBravo website and it seems it comes with the caseback I want for my son (mimic of the 1455.022 caseback).
So when you receive your watches from Toro, could you please check if it's possible to swap the casebacks from one to the other ?
If YES I will do that :
- give my son the automatic one (with the quartz's caseback) for his birthday
- keep the quartz (with the automatic caseback) for me
All this for less USD than sourcing a space caseback.
To be really accurate with the model I should get the "broad arrow" instead of the "2013 edition" but the sword hands are too beautifull,, plus the "broad arrow" comes withe a crystal caseback (so I cant put it on the quartz).

9 is running seconds. 3 is chrono minutes. 6 is frozen on this model, but usually a running 24 hour hand on other watches with this movement

The vintage brown leather was from martu leather: http://www.martuleather.com and is good value.

I think I removed the links with one of the cheap plastic tools like this: http://m.ebay.com/itm/361865137635
They weren't too hard from memory.

It requires me to stop the chrono and reset the whole mechanism before the movement begins working again. It works fine otherwise and I was wondering if anyone else has/had experienced something similar.
