Off the top of my head, I can only think of the 126500 from Clean. Since I prefer a bracelet over oyster flex, the 126518 might not be a good choice to start with. From the comments that I have gathered in this forum, QF has incorrect case shape and crown, and the movement in QF is also the 4130 not the 4131. Given that the Le Mans bezel and dial are available in the market, I have been considering about building a Frankens Le Mans as a quick fix until Clean releases its own version.
My personal opinion for you is to wait or buy the QF.
The QF using the SH4131 now, before hand you were correct they used the SL-4801, but no longer.
The QF does have pushers that are a little too long and some crown guard issues, I also agree.
However, QF is the best "out of the box" one right now (you can also look into APSF if you want one with a correct case but incorrect dial).
The build you're "asking" to make using a Clean 126500 base will be expensive, and also wrong in many areas.
You will spend time to source a Clean 126500, a custom bezel, custom dial, (maybe) white gold plating, as well as a open caseback. Additionally then remeber that the Clean movement has engravings for 4131, not 4132. So you would be spending quite alot of money for a watch that lacks alot of details as a replica.
Let's say :
- Clean : $700
- Bezel + Dial (conservative pricing) : $500
- Open Caseback : $50
- Labor : $100
Total price : $1300
So you paid double the QF for a watch that still has many flawed aspects.
