Look around for a guy called JJ, JJ's Dials from Spain, he can do the dial for you

The base, just pick BTF and Clean

Total probably around $1500?
$1200 tops

$1200 tops
$800 for a Daytona
$500 for JJ's dial - you can find it for "cheaper" from non TD
$100 for installation

$1200 maybe from non TD potentially but I always base these kind of builds for noobs based on TD pricing

Are Clean Daytonas no longer “on sale?”

They're "on sale" but I see alot of sneaky sellers, TD and non TD neglect to mention that the price has been reduced lol

Just discovered this tread.
@KruisingKhaos95 . . . had you been around here in 2016-2018, you would have met @The_Society, a man absolutely obsessed with creating Daytonas. He also focused on creating correct movements from Breitling (and other) donors. I once bought a Tudor Monte Carlo Homeplate from him, and it was really something . . .

Hi all!

Over the past 8-12 months I have noticed myself slowly moving away from my relentless (and borderline unhealthy) obsession with continuously buying and selling in the m2m section, after trying a lot of different reps out. Nowadays, my primary interest is sourcing parts and building frankens, more specifically, rare or "off-catalogue" Daytona's. I came to the realisation some time ago that I am in fact a Daytona addict, and despite trying a lot of lovely watches out in the 2 and a bit years I have been a member, I always come back to Daytona's. In fact, I am now at a stage where I actively search for rare Daytona's online, looking at pics and trying to learn more about the references, before seeking the parts to start building.

This imo seems to be the somewhat natural progression of the average rep collector from what I have seen on the forum. The initial stage of rep ownership is reading and investigating every factory, finding out who is the best for specific models, checking with TDs, and consulting with fellow members before carefully selecting specific watches to order. This then progresses to the "seafood diet" stage, that being, you see a rep that you haven't tried, buy it, then sell it a few weeks later to fund more reps (rinse and repeat) until the point where simply buying and selling isn't enough to scratch that itch. Which can now only be scratched by drawn-out builds, searching for parts and seeing a long-term project finally come together.

I have quite a few rare and of-catalogue Daytona frankens being built at the moment and I am intrigued to see what rare/off catalogue builds my fellow members have in their collection, or would like to have built in the not-to-distant future? :)

For reference, here are just a few of the watches I have "in progress" or on my wish list for future projects (diamond set watch haters, look away now 👀):

I'll have to do some research, I'm not familiar with the chap you tagged, I still consider myself a relative newbie when compared to a lot of you guys on here! That Monte Carlo is stunning, I love the dial and I adore racing straps!

I thought that I would eventually get bored of these builds but whenever I finish a batch of builds, I already have 3-4 more planned, it's never ending! :ROFLMAO:

Both are stunning mate, I really need a high quality Zenith build soon. I'm wanting to do a white dial 16520 but quality case sets amd after market dials are difficult to source it seems...

Hi, bro . My dreams, in fact, was a 16520 white dial but, at the time the minimum price request was about € 10.000 so i opted for a 16523 . Now the situation is the same so I’d change mine only for a 16520 IN SAME CONDITION AND WITH SAME GENUINE PARTS . I’ve looked for so called “Vietnam dials” from this site’s TDs but they haven’t even the silver edges of the subdials … so, at now, I’m happy with that I have . Good luck (or do you prefer: “up the whale’s ass” 😂 ) with your projects. I hope they turn out even better than mine.
P.S. i forgot that the 2 Daytonas I’ve posted mounts both genuine rotors .

Beautiful! Is it custom? If so, who did the build? Would love to try out a custom build but wouldn’t know where to start.
Sorry been on holiday. Yes dial is from JJ. Base is CF I just got cheapest one from Steve as changing the dial anyway. Think total I paid was around £1100 including install and deep crystal.

I know you want to see more. Here is my second custom Rainbow Daytona. This watch can stop traffic (and get you killed). Next custom rainbow being made is going to be all tungsten. Using only the best of materials

Ronaldo’s new watch is worth a minimum $500,000. But if you check closely between his watch which is the 116598, the numbers are in diamonds. I prefer the 116595 where the numbers are in sapphires. But that is just my personal preference. Can’t believe our Kruising Daytona collector doesnt have the best watch that Rolex ever designed. LOL. JMHO.

Didn’t even know MOP dial existed in a RBOW, but yes I agree that the sapphire dial is much nicer!
