Surely the bigger problem with APs is not the open case back or someone knowing enough about them to call you out, but the cost of the original is so high... Can you actually pull it off? If I saw any of the juniors at work wearing an AP or even any of the directors it would make me call BS straight up.

I understand your point. Things is, I make a little shy of 5k. No high fixed costs. I am currently thinking about picking up a gen 15400 Blue. It certainly doesn't suit my salary but it's something one can save for. It would be stupid to waste so much money on a watch but for some reason it feels good. Just like my other hobby, niche perfumery, where my collection is also topping 10k.. Possible yes, smart no..

There is the new 9000 clone with correctly positioned balance wheel which looks very convincing too

That's probably the seagull you're talking about, if I'm not wrong. The same KW but with the seagull/23J instead of the 7750. They all have very well cloned rotor and other decoration. It was out of stock pretty much everywhere though. The only other fully ceramic version is the ZF which again is a 7750 and thus the wrong position for the balance wheel.

You're right, high end watches are something that virtually anyone can save for but let's face it...if you work in McDonalds and wear a gen RG AP..... "everyone" will basically think it's fake (not that I care what others think).

Did you put everyone in quotes because you meant almost no one? Most people walking into McDs wouldn't even know what AP is. They'd just be like...nice watch, looks cool.

Hi. Anyone ordered from the UK? How long does it take to arrived and if there were any issues?

My point is that if your salary/lifestyle/age/job/car etc doesn't stack up, then people (who know watches) will probably assume your watch is fake (even tho it may be gen).

Similarly, if you drive a lambo, and wear a rep RM...:nobody is gonna question its authenticity.

Ps. I've seen more high end watches across EU main city McDonald than any other restaurant in the world.

This isn't really the thread for this. But yes I ordered from the UK many times. Had one delayed at customs for 6 months...

If you look at watches like we do you will see them everywhere. Most people don't even notice. My wife still hasn't noticed the last 3 or four watches I have bought.

I drop my 5 year old at primary school couple of times a week. Just in her class I have counted 6 Rolex on mums, 2 EXP I 3 Daytonas one ladies DJ
1 Nautilus on a Dad and 3 subs on Dads. All look Gen to me.

Who cares about what other people thinks about "your lifestyle"? I don't care what people think of me.

So true. I saw a older guy drive up in a Lamborghini to a bank.
As we both entered the building, I had noticed a blinged out Hublot. I didn't think twice if it was fake. On the other hand, I love Patek, but people will probably call me out if I'm rocking that with my older BMW lol

I dare to doubt that. Maybe for you the things that matter are different, but pretty much everyone cares.
No do you know why? My neighbour has tons of money and he is clothing like a homeless guy because you know why? Because he doesn't care he have made his money he doesn't need to proof anything anymore.

If you need an expensive luxury item to proof that you are something then maybe you do something wrong. I have many Gen and Replica watches and if someone ask me if its a rep, i say yes it is. Why lying? Sorry but its just a hobby.

Most people I have seen rocking gen AP or RM, wear t-shirts and jeans + flip-flops (i.e. the celebrity out and about look).
