Hey Mikey, did you actually buy all 5 at the same time from the same TD? 1 shipment?

After my trip to an AD today I would say the the JF Explorer I should be on this list. I tried the gen on and man the JF is really good. The ever so small issue with the kerning on "EXPLORER" is almost unnoticeable.

Mostly all from puretime. I ordered two from TSwatch and one arrived and wasn't working(iwc ZF big pilot). Fingers crossed it makes it back through Chinese customs and I get a replacement watch.

Not sure if this has been answered already, but what's everyone's opinion on the newer JF AP ROO diver with the open case back? Is it a noticeable enough difference from gen to make it a less desirable rep than the closed back version?

I'm having a difficult time with this because I just love that look of the open case back!

How many times are you going to actually take your watch off and hand it to someone? More so, to someone that knows APs well enough to call you out?

if they're that good, then you know they'll call you out on some other aspect of the watch.

Surely the bigger problem with APs is not the open case back or someone knowing enough about them to call you out, but the cost of the original is so high... Can you actually pull it off? If I saw any of the juniors at work wearing an AP or even any of the directors it would make me call BS straight up.

This too. In the tech industry though, you'll see people wearing super fancy watches and driving nice sports cars (they are paid well, all that stock has gotta go somewhere especially if you don't have kids) but wearing flipflops and random clothes that have been with them since college - especially the younger guys. So I kinda find it hard to judge.

That's definitely on the NWBIG list and very deservedly.
I believeeeee that's because the actual stamp for these cases was backdoored out of the cartier case factory in china? I thought I heard that somewhere

Almost all of the open back watches cant be called a super rep imo. A quick glance at the case back is enough to tell its fake.

That's almost true But if there is a 7750 in both Rep and Gen and the rep movement has a well finished back plate and Rotor it will pass. As will a well finished 6947 as in the Noob Pam 111. There will be other exceptions as well I think.

Same here in Thailand Today I am wearing scruffy shorts and sandals, riding a motor bike and wearing a Gen Parmigiani Kalpagraphe in Palladium

Maybe everyone thinks it is a Rep, who cares :)

The seagull based Pam 438 as well - had a raging hard on for one so I ended up getting one from Sead. The KW one with the 7750 comes close but is let down by a balance wheel at the wrong location - this is of course something only a rep owner or a real panerai enthusiast would spot and that too if the watch is in their hands.

There is the new 9000 clone with correctly positioned balance wheel which looks very convincing too
