Building a Spider!

Got a great watch to build from Sub007, this time a spider dial! Never seen the gen before so I was amazed by the reflection.


Gen dial, gen plexi, aftermarket bezel, gen insert, gen eta 2846, and a modded 5513 case.

Removing the old (bold) plexi:

Fitting new gen plexi:

Insert fitted and bezel added to the case:

Dial:

Removing datewheel and it's gears:

Dial and hands attached, into the case:

Silicon grease on the sealings, caseback back on and the bracelet attached!

Now it's done I have to think of a way to keep this watch...... I love it!

German press I got from Alan at WatchBitz... May he rest in peace. Do miss him a lot when it comes to watchmaking stuff, I'm happy to own many of the stuff he sold, almost my entire room is filled with his tools!

Loving your work man. I've got a 5513 Spider dial as well that's off getting repaired, first sub i've not sold or traded out in a long time. Can I ask what the specs are, the mid-case looks very good, MBW? the hands I think could use a little colour just to age them very slightly, same with the pearl. What bracelet you using?
