When it's just screw locations the factory is finishing up with, I would agree. :) A little confusing on the first picture though, the arrangement is V2, V1, Gen. Then second picture is V1, V2, Gen. Thank goodness for the legend.

i went through all pages but could not find a real answer to this:

is the gen movement of the 441 a different color than the vsf v2 version?

on the pictures in the internet the gen looks black but the rep looks silverish

"Please note that images are stock photographs and that colors and sizes may not exactly correspond to actual products. ". Found this on panerai website.. did more research gen movement is not blacked out.

Some of the images aren't even actual photographs but computer generated images. The movement of the PAM441 is not blacked out, it's the PAM438 movement that's blacked out. But the crystal on the caseback on the PAM441 is smoked with a slightly dark grey hue while the one on the PAM438 is completely transparent.

It does not look like it on the website pictures, hopefully someone who's ordered the V2 can chime in.

Edit:
Just went a few pages back, it's confirmed. Clear glass caseback on the V2.

i know one would not see it while wearing on the wrist, but there goes the super rep status for me :-(

You can probably confirm that first with the TD before ordering the watch. Who knows? Maybe someone at the factory caught it and corrected it.

The back on v2 is not crystal clear. It has a little bit of smoke.

I am wondering when they will reléase the 438...

I’ve said this before and I said it again.
Even Panerai had a very very hard time to black out the gen P.9001 movement.
So I would be surprised if we ever see a rep with a blacked out clone P.9001.

Thanks although I am not really seeing the slight smoky effect of the darkened crystal.

Well we did see the PAM438 V1, so there's hope. Maybe the blacking out process is taking time like you said, that's why we have not seen the PAM438 with the V2 P.9001 movement. :)

From what to what? Two PAM441 from the same factory even if different movement (V1 P9001 and V2 P9001), maybe possible.
