I don’t think it’s a big difference to the gen. There are variations on if they have a copper color pinion or not. For example this from 2012:
That's wild! Ive never seen this before. Thx for sharing. Honestly I think a matching white cap is a much better look gen or rep.

Yeah it’s funny that Patek did it like this. There are 2-3 different shades on this one. It’s copper coloured in the date hand, dark copper color in the Center pinion and steel/white in the seconds hand pinion.

It’s interesting! Because there is this possibility that we misunderstood this PPF V2 release all along. I don’t think this is a rep of the latest version 5712.

When you look at the early 5712’s from 2006-2009, they have the blue-greenish-grey color dial. Then there are the “mid versions” meaning from 2010 to 2019, that are darker and with almost no green hue. In the latest version in 2020 the color changed again and there also appears thick dots at 35 and 25. The thick dots at 35 and 25 are absent from the early and mid versions. Exactly like on the PPF V2.

To my eyes the dial color of fx the 2012 is pretty close to this PPF V2.

Another fact that supports this is the movement.

2012:

The movement on the mid versions and early ones didn’t have the backslash 240/xxx like can be seen on the later models, 2022:

If we compare this to the PPF V2 movement, there is the movement serial number above and 240 below. No backslashes like the later 2022+ versions:

Also the copper coloured pinions the PPF V2 have are on the mid versions (2012, gen):

I don’t know where we got the idea from that PPF made the V2 as the latest 2022 version 5712. Are there others here that can see things in this light?

The PPF V1 is representative of early version 5712’s with the greenish dial. The PPF V2 is representative of the mid versions of it, is what I think.

When you look at the early 5712’s before ca 2010, they have the blue-greenish-grey color dial. Then there are the “mid versions” meaning after that and the later color change in 2022 (I’m not certain if there was a change in 2019). The mid versions are darker and with almost no green hue.

What supports this is the fact that the PPF V2 doesn’t have the thick dots at 35 and 25. The later versions (2022+) have them.

By early version you mean? Early version is 2006-2009.
I don’t think this PPF V2 is a early version, I think it’s a mid version (2010+). The V1 is a early version.

No versions have this moonphase color. That’s probably just a flaw, because I think it’s way lighter than the 2022 shown on the Patek website.

I think the most likely thing is that they are copying those watch from a mix of pictures that aren't all from the same period. Doubt they have ONE watch in mind and just mix and match as a result.

Maybe you are right, they maybe bought not a nautilus but another patek with 240 movement to clone the movement and then they are watching pics…

I would thought they got a gen, unless the gen they got has parts from mixed period. TBH for them to borrow a gen is not that hard or difficult to find IMHO. Is not exactly like a RM which is much harder and rarer to get.
