all of those and case thinning close to the gen thickness. or is the thickness already improved in the latest iteration of the 5712 from xxx factory ?

PPF case is already like 8.8mm vs the 8.5mm in gen, I dont think case thinning is necessary at all. If you need the .3mm shaved off buy a CNC case

I’m a newbie when it comes to Patek, I ordered a 5712 from my TD I asked him what factory he’s getting it from and he said the PP Factory is the one to order from, he also said he ordered it in a V3 whatever that means can someone help with an explanation….. thanks

Ask for a stock photo of the watch. Check the color of the moon phase disc and the clasp type of the bracelet. Btw, there are some modded versions available for 5712 from TDs and other dealers.

Depending on your budget, I would highly recommend going down the mod route on the 5712.

If this is true thats great, but with OME's entry into the market; unless PPF does something about the dial and moonphase theres no reason to buy their watch

Sure yeah cheaper by what 100-200? If you plan to make it look closer to gen might as well pay the 800-850 (or whatever it is, somewhere around this) and get the better dial, hands (specifically subdial hands) and pinions (albeit the PR pinion is terrible)

I suppose to each his own, but the difference is really $70 (at least on chazingtime). If your finances won’t allow you an extra $70 or even $200, I’m not sure you’d want to represent a $70,000 watch on your wrist.

i mean of course, i do agree, but after a few years i have come to accept that not all of us seek the best version, and there's a place in the replica game for "value" options. While I like to pretend finances don't matter, the reality is finances matter for lots of people.

And let's remeber that people outside of the west also buys these replicas, the difference of $70-100 may not make any of us blink, but in China or Thailand that's like 1/5th of someone's monthly salary or more.

Everything can be justified... if the price is right.
