Anyone bought from AMOWatch before? I know they're not a TD, just curious to see if anyone has any experience to share.
I bought a BBR RM035 from them, and happy with the transaction. QR pics arrived fairly quickly, I think maybe 3-4 days. The pics were good quality, and they also provided a video. Surprisingly, they shipped using Fedex to the states, for the same price TDs around here charge for snail post (I believe it was $30). Watch arrived 3 days after I received notice of shipment. Communication was in good English, and they responded quickly to questions. I was worried about not being able to order through the website, but overall they exceeded expectations.

Wanted to check - is the "loose" minute hand still an issue? Or have they fixed that?

Hi everyone, I wanted to buy a 5712 PPF v4 from CTime, I read many pages here on the forum about it, especially about the possible modifications to make to make it as similar as possible to the GEN, I asked CTime directly if they could make these modifications, they said yes, with SW dial, hands and moon phases modified we are around 400 dollars. Currently what modifications do you recommend? Are these enough or is there something else that can be done? Thanks

See if they can also do the crown recess mod. The moonphase and dial are the more important elements though, you'd do the hands anyway if you were doing them. Custom movement plate engraving is a "nice to have", but I'm not sure it's worth the extra bucks.

You don’t need to recess the v2 and up. That was a common v1 mod, totally not needed anymore.

If you’re trying to get as close to Gen as possible speak to SpongeBob, just be aware his builds are 2500+, but this gets you basically as close as you can get without a franken. If you don’t want to do that go to chazingtime as he has modified builds you can pick and choose from.

What you need if you’re trying to get close to Gen:

Pinion caps
Dial
Moonphase
Hands
Engraved movement bridge plates
First end link mod

SpongeBob does quite a few extras to bring it beyond the above. But the above can be done by most TDs

I just received a PPF v4 5712, I don't think the "first end link mod" is necessary either? As the first end link is flexible. Wasn't it the case before that the first end link used to not be able to move?

I dont think anyone is aware of this change, have a pic of how the bracelet slopes? Like show a side view of the case with the bracelet, not on a wrist

Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but how the hell is this thing called 1:1 if it says 41mm x 8.8mm while the original is 40mm x 8.5mm? Is there a difference in the way it's being measured??

I totally get you. In my experience 1:1 written on any TD site is to be taken with a large pinch of salt.

My understanding with the 5712 was that diameters and overall dimensions were very accurate but thickness is the one difference, gen thickness can be achieved through modification.

The main issue with odd shaped watches such as this is where do you measure them repeatably to get the right diameter on a non circular shape.
