New ORF SMPc 300m A8800 released today

Not exactly. It has a movement plate over the top. The base 2824 has no decoration other than an Omega stamp near the black balance wheel. My movement is currently running at +0.5 secs a da but I’ll swap in a Swiss option one day and change over the black balance at the same time. A much better option than a full clone for servicing long term.

Thanks a lot for the info, a decor plate was what I was trying to say. I’m actually curious what they did to the balance wheel to make it black and not affect the accuracy.

The easy swap is really what I’m after when a repair is needed, instead of an expensive paperweight when clone parts aren’t available.

The balance wheel setup is almost the heart of a movement. IMO by moving the black clone setup over to the Swiss ETA could possibly a ruin. After all, the Chinese ETA clone parts are not 100% exchangeable to that of the Swiss counterparts

I’ve done it twice to two VSF watches with perfect results which is why I know it is possible and works buddy. Both were adjusted to cosc standards and are both still running perfect albeit with new owners.

AFAIK they should be 100% exchangeable, minus tolerance differences, for the common 2824/36/92.
I recently bought the PT5000 version of the 2824 and I’m quite impressed by the quality, I would personally go for that instead of a Swiss movement considering the price different.

Ordered an ORF Seamaster v2 Black from Li some days ago, OKed the QC but was confused since there wasnt any ORF tags on the bracelet? Didnt ORF have the red ”omega” -tape on the bracelet or? Lana told me that ORD doesnt use any tags yet I see other peoples QC with those red omega tags.

I’ve seen a couple now without stickers on the bracelet wrapping but mine came with them 2 weeks ago. I think you have the right to post your qc pics so we can check for you. There is no V2 by the way, this is just the latest factory production run.

That’s strange as nothing on the watch has changed and Li has never mentioned V2 to me or seen it listed anywhere as such but anyway it doesn’t really change anything.
They don’t put a logo on the watch but the bracelet wrap until the last few days has always had Orf branding on. Here is my recent strap which I’ve sold separately as I’ve fitted a gen bracelet showing the wrapping.

I’m guessing GF own AGF as well as ORF which makes it more complicated.

I just gave the green light to Andrew's QC.
It seems that my model is the ONLY SS/RG ORF SMPC 300m of the forum, i have not seen any other.

I'm looking to get the black dial version but have been told that ORF as of yesterday are on holiday.

Can I ask, how is the gold plating holding up?
