New ORF SMPc 300m A8800 released today

It's not just the crystal that's off in the most recent batch of ORFs. The bezel insert is 20 shades of wrong. The numerals and markers are not only too fat, they are engraved with a depth that can be seen and felt. Early ORF on the left (all blue), recent ORF on the right (Tokyo).

There's a big difference in those two pieces. The old ORF looks much better than the recent. Thanks for posting this.

Received my latest batch black dial today and have to say it is very good. The AR is great and the insert is improved in my eyes and now has thinner font numbers. I have shown a pic next to a 1st release ORF insert to show you. Also the case is better finished and doesn’t have any sharp edges on mi example. It had a slightly wonky twelve marker but I’ve sorted that and also added my gen bracelet on the wrist photos. Hopefully they can keep up the consistency of parts in the longer term!

It is overall better with a better case shape and better bracelet too. This is my third ORF and I’ve had a few VSF’s too but the poor lume colour always made me sell then but ORF is crisp and white.

Make sure Sead gets you the very latest though as ORF have had supply issues with parts but this one is good.

Yeah they seem to be fitting better parts again. Still trying to find out if they really have improved the blue version and I’ll add that to the club!

Would you mind describing how you 'sorted' out the twelve marker?

Sure bud, I removed the right side marker then filed down the little locating pegs on the back and glued it in position more squarely to the left marker. A bit fiddly and patience needed but looks better now.

Forgive me, for my English which is not very good.

I just received my photos from JTIME.

I find it weird. the bezel seems good to me, it is not hollowed out like on the worst ORFs.
Nothing to say on that side.

On the other hand, on the glass there does not seem to be a good antireflection. I also find it weird that the sticker on the bracelet is not the ORF logo ....

Ar coating looks ok to me. Remember the dial on these is very shiny but the ar looks to be good on the glass.
Yes your plastic on the bracelet does not have OR logo. All looks ok though.

Not exactly. It has a movement plate over the top. The base 2824 has no decoration other than an Omega stamp near the black balance wheel. My movement is currently running at +0.5 secs a da but I’ll swap in a Swiss option one day and change over the black balance at the same time. A much better option than a full clone for servicing long term.
