I got the grey/blue one two weeks ago. Dial looks a lot darker than I was expecting, and fair bit darker than gen I think.

I have the same grey/blue model from ORF and confirm the same -- much darker, even compared to the gen. The colors are deep, but just not what the gen is.

The blue version is now updated closer to gen since mid December onwards. Use a good dealer and you will get a good one.

Does anyone have a problem with getting the screws loose when adjusting the bracelet? I have almost completely stripped down the screws. I have read heating it would help. Will try boiling the bracelet in water tomorrow. If anyone knows another way, I am open for suggestions.

Luckily the watch also looks good on the rubber bracelet.

Did it the other day, no problem whatsoever. Which screws are you trying on? (Counted from the clasp)

They can be tricky as you need to heat the threadlocker glue that even rep factories use these days and a good quality crisp bladed screwdriver preferably Bergeron and a bit of patience.
Submerge the particular section of the bracelet in boiling water in a cup for 5 minutes or so and then using a cloth hold the piece firmly and slowly loosen the screw. Hopefully that will work.

An alternative way is to heat up the screw that you want to loose slightly by using a small torch. This will soften the threadlock accordingly

What’s the current quality of the white dial orf seamasters at present? I read initially that the white dial was a little plastic looking, almost translucent?

I used a blow dryer. Feel more comfortable without worrying about leaving heat marks

I also have a white gen at home - I think they look pretty good. I would probably have to keep them to get to know them better.
