You didn't need to file the top of the crown, I think it's a bit too much now. I just did the underside, it's less obvious to the eye. As you have found out, you need a very good set of swiss files to do it right?
Why don't you repaint the bezel insert? I think it's the best upgrade one can do to those reps.
Anyway, very nice job on the watch, it's great as is and for that price! Aren't we lucky?! ;)

I’ve done it with a Dremel with the fine grit disks. I slightly pinch the crown stem with the crown attached, press the running Dremel carefully and together the crown rotates and sand until desired- results in a more even sand. Again.. only the back of the crown.

If you look at gen 6542 you will see that the paint is more often than not completely ugly! You can do a replica of one you like, or just crazy about it!
I use a cheapo small brush, but I didn't had the 000 size one. I have ordered it and it will be much easier doing paint on such a minuscule surface.
An advice is to keep the underneath a little rough so the paint has some grip to attach to it.

Use good masking tape, or you can scrape off the paint afterwards with a razorblade.

About the long pinion seconds hand. I used the stock one because my 2836 set didn't have that long pinion!
Let me be specific, that is for the Jtime Alibino version for sure as it is what I have now. But I can't say for sure if it's still the case for the other models.
Again those watches are custom made and I heard they changed hands...

Anyway I did age the stock second hand as it look not good at all in stock form, but it's shape once modded is actually decent!
But I do recommend to change the hour and minute hand as those are not gen like at all.

About the GMT hand, the stock one is Okayish, maybe some new red paint and some ageing and you are good to go. The aftermarket GMT hand is crazy expensive for what it is, but if you have the funds, go for it. But in my case I used it because I already ordered it, but I would have been happy with the stock one once modded.

Sourcing the hands, I can't give any trustworthy advice as I am doing by luck. Usually I use whatever I ordered because I don't want to spoil what I bought. But I would say check with the seller to send pictures of the actual hands you will receive so you can do the usual screen checking versus gen photos! ;)

I was able to size my folded bracelet. Ultrasonic cleaned and oiled up. Still feels cheap but no more rattling!

I want to change the endlinks, though. They’re too narrow vertically. I did try to stretch them a bit but didn’t work. Any recommendations for endlinks that will actually cover the area between the lugs better?

Like this.

This! I would love to know whether anyone has modded endlinks so they fit better, and if so - which ones?
