did anyone get theirs? I got my Li 6542 today, looks great but the bezel turns almost freely and i can pull it off with my hands, is that normal?

Shouldn’t be. Mine got delivered but I’m not home until tomorrow.

Should be a pretty easy fix. A bit of reshaping of the bezel spring

That’s not bad at all!.. wonder if we could get a batch done for these watches? Basic 6542 dials.

Possibly, it would come down to dial blanks - I’m not sure they can supply the odd sized vintage Rolex dials with the date window in the correct position, which would mean sourcing the blanks yourself.

They made the dial for my BB bluesy

their work is accurate( as long as you’re very specific) and of decent quality - though certainly no match to the pieces coming out of Vietnam.
There was a modder over on RWF years ago who managed to get HR to produce a run of actual reverse printed ‘negative relief’ gilt dials for Tempus Machina builds - but as I recall, it was quite an arduous process to get MK to understand WTF he wanted.

Wow ... they did a great job
Would you give us some more informations about the process ?
- did you supplied the dial plate ?
- if yes with indexes on or off ?
- did you send them the desing or not ?
And how much did they chare for that dial ?

Some info from my inquiries to HR

Helenarou claims to be able to print any dial, any colors. I got a price quote from them for one time setup fee of $115 plus $45 per dial or $25 if I supply the dial. If they supply the dial there are only certain sizes they can get - 28mm was one which was good for me so IDK about others. They use pad printing and can print in gold but it would not be negative relief. They told me don't usually do indices at all. Take them off if you send dials, if you want them to do it, it's like $500. You can send unprepared dials (in any serviceable condition) they will sandblast and anodize before painting. If you send dials , they need at least 2-3 dials ( one for adjust printing position, one for test print , one for final print ) to get one done.

You should send them the design pic, they do a mock up for you to correct before printing.

quick thoughts (i’m no expert):

bakelite bezel insert does look really good, the edges of the bezel are slightly rough, could use some filing down. mine twists freely but it is an east fix with the octagonal spring.

the plexi is actually pretty good, not sure it even needs a clarks 116.

dial really isnt that bad, has some gilt to it, just the lume is pretty flat and dull. viet dial would be nice but if you want to go budget maybe just aging the lume would be fine

hands look a bit off, im not an expert but it just doesnt look crisp, i think the profiles are too thick but experts can chime in

dw looks good, mine was pretty well aligned luckily

folded link bracelet is pretty crappy but its a vintage so thats how they come

hope this helps

That looks pretty nice! Agree with your comments. The date wheel and cyclops appear to be dead on - KJ2020 has the final veto eye for these tho.
Nice catch!

Sweet Rollei! We need to start an appreciation thread for Rolex & Rolleiflexes (and other vintage cams/lenses). Or maybe even vintage watches, camera, and cars. Call “Chronos, Cams, and Cars”. Or to be punny just “Rollin’ “

Sweet, I ordered one like this too, and I believe the dial might be Ok until I find a good 6542 one. Just a relume, and bezel mod and you are good to go!

Haha yeah it's my pride and joy even though it's way harder to get good shots compared to my 2.8F!
good idea about the Rollin thread even I will not be able to compete seeing my ugly little car lol! Let's include motorbikes!

Great watch.. I agree .. the dial is not bad.. with a nice vintage relume it can suffice for most. What drives me nuts are the hands which luckily are cheap to replace.

Just opened my Li and two things are a bit worrying.

The crown action is horrible. I think the stem is too damn short so on the winding position it scrapes the tube.

As expected, the bracelet is crap, but, whoever installed it literally scrapped the the inside of the lugs, where the serial and model numbers are.

The bezel is very nice and fine.

The DW is okay, sits a bit low.

Other than that, it’s okay.

I’ll sit with with later and take pictures. Maybe try to fix the stem or something.

That is quite nice bro, the detail is excellent in the printing and the rose. I think I'm going to proceed with my plan. I was only dragging my feet because I hadn't seen any real results.

Let’s hear it!?
