did anyone get theirs? I got my Li 6542 today, looks great but the bezel turns almost freely and i can pull it off with my hands, is that normal?

Yes, this is completely normal. Both my TS-Station 6542 Serpico y Laino models have bezels that spin almost freely and pop off with ease.

hi! before i completely botch the bakelite insert, how was yours repainted? i removed the Li insert last night it is all black behind. i figured light sand the back side and refill with acrylic paint to give an aged look but wanted to check before i experiment

Yes, be carefully and use common sense. Fine grit is safer, try to use a flat pad so you don't less up the shape. Just fill down the black back until you'd ee clear out the plastic paint. Then use whatever paint you have. I used acrylic too. I tried some Rothko inspired sh*t but you go ahead and be creative !

shaped/brassed the bezel, and the crown. i did a poor job at shaping the crown (its really hard) so i figured i’d hide the defects.
