KW Lug shape is a little wrong of course, but I can say that Noob shape is a little wrong too, and the view from 6 and 12 of Noob lugs position is clearly wrong too. It is true that Noob lugs are aesthetically nicer.
KW lug screws position is wrong, period.
Crystal AR is clearly purple but faint and few noticeable in almost all positions. The ItheS pic is real with fluorescent light but you need to place the watch in a very special position to get this pic. Usually you don't see such a hue. And I confirm my opinion about this crystal as one of the best I have seen, although the purple t¡int.
Difference in bezel is very easy to describe. Noob and gen have a transition angle ROUNDED between inclined surface and vertical bezel base. H maker and KW have a sharper angle.
This sharper bezel looks really better IMO but it is more inaccurate. That's all. You will see all that in the final review

Man, Ale, you're as anal as us in the Rolex section. Birds of the same feather :)

The level of finish is quite nice and raises the bar. The inaccuracies preclude the possibility of ever buying one. I don't understand the clamor over these models. The caseback is nice and allows for a lot of options. A v3 case is spot on for a contemporary builds, let that be the foundation to a solid modern build.

So, if you had to choose between the different makers on this model, which one would you go for all things considered ifyou had to part with your money!?

None, I would build. Each factory has their strengths and weaknesses.

Noob has the most accurate cases.

H has a better crystals and CB's, but KV 's look good and offers a lot of build options.

Movement is ETA for all my builds since I only build solid PAMs.

Dials are "meh", H is still advantageous for lume, indices, and texture. Either gen or H in my builds.

My .02 cents.

Good to see passionate posters taking the time to dissect. only through modding and custom builds will you achieve what you are looking for.

I'm really astonished how people can take conclusions so fast and so definitive, rigorous and firm.
I have some experience (about 40 years) in watches, a lot in PAMs, I'm studying with Klockis (a very good expert) three Luminor cases H maker, Noob and KW during more three weeks, with samples, many pics, Photoshop comparisons and we have not get a definitive answer about the best case and maybe we will get some conditioned answers.
Please, what are we making wrong ?? Are we so silly ??

Just got mine after all the hype.

My honest opinion - a great rep, different caseset from noobs offering (111v3), but not better in quality/workmanship (par).

Position of lug screws is definitely off, I could spot it on your wrist if you were wearing this. I think KW fac messed up on the lug shape and the strap wouldnt fit well if they put the holes in the right spots as the strap would rub the case too hard. Also, bezel shape looks off a little, not sure how to describe it, but the lower part that touches the case looks strange.

Purple tint on the crystal...I know ALE and others have said its subtle, but its pretty noticeable to me. If you have an HBB v6 with a purple/blue AR on it, then this one is probably 25% the color strength of the HBB at certain angles. Very apparent when you have two panerai together. I've never seen a gen with this tint before, but I suppose that doesnt mean it never existed.

I also ordered the KW360, and I like that crystal better (dont shoot me ALE!). The 417 CG is pretty nice though and has a high quality look brushed finish, nice square cut inner edges, but the fitment to the case may not be as perfect as noobs. Not as perfect, but not noticeable at all on your wrist and will make 99% of you happy.

Overall though, I'd recommend this watch. It has a good fit and finish to it that is always good to see in our rep world. Mine came with OEM scratches from either KW or the dealer, but they would have happened anyway so I wont throw a fit about it.

Here are a couple of pics of the purple AR at its worst in fluorescent lighting, as well as the position of the lug screws.

My CG is spot on, no complaints really but only the smallest of details makes the favor to go noob in my opinion. Only the slightly rounded edges where it touches the case are of any concern, but you really need a loupe to tell.

The brushed finish on the KW CG may be a bit nicer as well as it looks more "refined". It doesnt have that "snap" of the noob lever, but it still has a high quality feel to it.

Please wait for a more detailed review from Ale and Klockis before you make any final decisions on the matter, but I just wanted to throw my observations into the mix. I'm about 50/50 on whether I'll keep this or one of you lucky guys will pick it up in member sales.

Oh to the other guy that was wondering about this being waterproof? I lubed up the gaskets around the watch, tightened up the caseback and all screws, and put it in a tub of water while I worked the asso strap (baseball glove cream, worked and looks great like gen!). I never use a pressure tester, and just throw my watches into water with faith and hope they dont leak! I do this only if I have confidence in the design (V6 HBB no way!). KW417 passed perfectly, and if I get a rubber strap, I would be 100% confident going into the rough ocean with it.

Hope Kuvarsit will change the lug screw location to the correct one. Then I will buy this watch for sure.

The reply of Intheshadows is very good and I agree with him in almost everything.

My thoughts and observations at this moment are:
- Finish and general look better KW
- Fitting CG lever, is uneven in general, some units are perfect an others have some differences but few noticeables.
- Fitting CG -Case good in all reps
- Inner edges and CORNERS, more squared and finish in Noob (no doubts about that). Althought there are some units from KW very good too (they are alittkle uneven). Both have awesome appearance and the flaws are no noticieable witahout a lens.
- Lever shape better KW but the tip of the lever is a little separated form the case.
- Roller support in lever is clearkly better KW (noob is completely wrong)
- Lever PIN in CG- Better finish and recessing in KW, but it is placed alittkle to the right side. Noob have worse finish and recessing and it is placed a little high (less noticeable that the flaw of KW position)
- Roller PIN better in Noob but not perfect.
- SNAP- seems better in Noob and h maker, but bear in mind that KW has a rubber gasket which gives a more precise, uniform and smooth Snap. Noob a H maker have a lot of differences due to not have gasket. KW is more trustworthy and reliable IMO, but it has no "strong" snap.

You will get all info and pics in the final review

Hey,
i'm new to the whole western union thing. I'm trying to send money to KV for an order but I don't see a name on my invoice. I just see his company name/number/website and email. The WU rep said I need his first and last name so they can give the money to the right person. Kuvsarsit's email is full so I haven't got a reply back. Any help would be appreciated.
