In the english language there are a plethora (Crap Load) of different words to describe colors that all basically mean the same thing.

But yes violet would be a lighter purple - somewhere between lilac and purple lol

Purple - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Purple vs. Violet is the 2'nd headliner down:)

Thanks a lot

Following Wikipedia indications the colour of the crystal is clearly:
VILOLET (more bluish than purple)

Thanks for the clarifcation

You're right - there's a gazillion colour nuances to pick from.
But the key thing in this context is that Purple has a lot more intensive glare in interaction with light than Violet. This is what we are seing in our crystals - interaction with light.

And because Violet is more 'flat' or 'dead' than Purple, this is probably the main reason why we see a much more subtle/less pronounced AR-glare in this sapphire: Not because of the shift from red to blue hue, but because of the (lesser) intensity of the colour Violet.

Hope that makes sense as to why I felt it had some value when assessing AR-coatings..:)

I agree

VIOLET hue is clearly the correct definition of the AR colour

Thanks Kleen, interesting find

I though honestly that the AR of GEN PAM Boutiques was colourless, but after seeing below Video I get some doubts.

What do you think about that?
Please see the second reflection.

I'm a little surprised

Hmmmm - interesting:
Although I have not seen a PAM BO in the wild; this video does clearly show that the 2'nd reflection has a tint to it - and that it is Violet!

This does seem to bring some evidence/warrant to the manufacturers claim of using gen-spec sapphire.

If anything, now I am more curious than ever to have a BO side-by-side comparison to see if the manufacturers supported claims holds.

Nicely spotted, Ale:)

Received my kv417 just this morning. the attention to detail is amazing. Between the lugs....the entire case..... is polished to a high mirror finish. Ale is right....this watch takes the Pam rep game to a new level. Even the strap is a step higher than all the other rep asso strap I've had. Only problem I now have is I will now want every kv Pam they produce!

does anyone from europe have experience with ordering from kv?

For the country I'm shipping to I usually use the 'via uk' shipping method. They don't have that but my shipping destination country has very strict customs. I emailed them a couple of days back but they don't reply.

Our TDs also have this watch. I can honestly recommend Ryan from InTime.co

Try PMing them in RWG. Their email inbox apparently is full and cannot receive messages although they can send out emails.

They always respond. I just end up deleting every-other message in the thread.

They do receive the emails (and respond) even though they bounce...

You do not need transshipping with KW - ordered five items via reg. airmail and all arrived safely, despite the very strict danish customs...

Yes, Kleen you most likely are right, it is the same for me in Spain an KW is a very serious dealer (although non TD here, they are TD in RWG brother forum)
But we all must know that the risks are for the own buyer, RWI cannot assume this reponsibility.

OK?
