This discussion is ridiculous, it's like discussing the nuances of a 30yr old single malt with a bum while he's shotgunning a nighttrain
While his bum friends call you an idiot for questioning their judgement since he's a renowned connoisseur of all things wild Irish rose this and thunderbird.

I see no point in trying to undermine Hubrisins judgement and credibility, as he seems to be doing that just fine by himself...:)

A polished Canal Street rep could pass as a super rep on this forum, easily and effortlessly based on the current levels of acceptance.
Modding, building and tutorials were once a norm here, now it's a sycophantic circle jerk.

I think I misunderstood you then, as I thought your analogy was comparing and contrasting the case-offerings by the multiple manufacturers....:)

First day on my wrist today. This watch is really nice. But I think that it is much too early to announce a Mr Creme de la Creme funeral. I will post some comparison pics later with Noob Pam Fu which is much the same type of a watch.
For now - this one picture. What really pisses me of is this purple AR tint. And you don't need a fluoroscent light to notice it. This picture is taken in a daylight.

Is that the second reflection of the window? Otherwise it is extremely pronounced compared to the very faint violet haze I have in mine....

One layer has a slight purple tint, i can only see mine in the faint reflection of a light bulb.

Same here, although I'd call it violet because it contains more of a bluish hue than purple (reddish hue..)
But anyway - it's very subtle on my sample at least.

Yup! It's the reflection of the window. What do you mean by "second reflection"?

1'st reflection: Front of crystal
2'nd reflection: Back of crystal

The AR is on the back of this model, hence my question...:)

Yeah the Purple AR isn't really too bad, overall it's a 9.5/10 watch
FYI - I've got an extra brand new 417 if somebody wants it :)

OK guys. I promised to drop my 5 cents. This is my humble comparison to Noob Factory PAM 366 Fu. In my opinion they are quite similar watches. Same type.
And 366 Fu has the same case as 111n v3 (as far as I'm concerned).

So... a little disclaimer first: I'm not a PAM expert. I've never had any PAM gen in my hand. I'm just a rep lover. All opinions below are just my personal feelings.

OK. My private conclusions first, then the pictures.

Genreal: Both are great pieces. It's really difficult to judge which one makes a better impression. For such a noob as I am the main criteria should be which one I like the most. Almost all differences are cosmetic and nobody ever will notice them unless he makes a close inspection with a loupe or so...
Above does not include the crystal AR.

AR: Well... I mentioned it before. This is the main and the huge difference between noob's Fu and KW 417. It's easy to notice on the pictures below. For me the purple/violet tint on KW is what pisses me off. It's unacceptable (for me) and if I let this watch stay in my collection I will definitely look for a noob or H-fact crystal to swap it in KW417.

Lugs: Being honest - I don't get it. I don't know what is so wrong with KW lugs. For my untrained eyes they are OK. Yes, they are a slightly different in noob's Fu but this is nothing huge. IMO nothing to bother with.

Case: Well... there are probably some differences but both are just great and there is not a spectacular winner in this category IMO.

Crown guard: I like KW better. Again - not the massive difference but KW gives a more gen feeling. Anyway I can't see a difference in brushing or so...

Lume applicaition and dial: Very difficult to judge even with a close investigation with a loupe. Both have a little imperfection but both are great in general. Fu's lume has a lighter colour in a daylight which I like better. But it's a small detail.

Lume strength: Exactly the same in both watches. Hands glow a little darker than indexes. But it's hardly noticable.

Caseback: Of course KW's caseback is prettier. But the engravings looks almost the same concerning a depth. There is no a clear winner.

Summarising for me the KW legend quality is not revolutionary comparing to noob's latest PAMs. But it's very high anyway. And in some aspect it really is a step forward (crownguard) and in some - not (purple AR).

Now it's time for some pictures:

And on the last photos you can see what makes a true difference even for an untrained eye.

What is worth mentioning - Pam Fu is $228 and Kuvarist sells a 417 for $328:shocked: Personally I don't see any reason for a $100 gap between these prices. Better CG and a PIG on a dial don't justify it for me at all.

Oh... I forgot to mention - KW asso strap is really nice an it has a normal length (125/80). But it comes without steel tubes.
Pam Fu's strap is a really great quality calf leather and comes with steel tubes.

Generally in my humble opinion some PAM's reps are overpriced a lot. Comparing for example to TAG Carrera Day Date with chrono A7750, steel bracelet, very complicated dial and great overall rep quality which Trevor can sell for $265 only. But it's just a small digression...

Thank you for your attention ;-)
