I've always like the Speedy Pro and missed several ops to buy a genuine at a great price.

Now with wife and kid, no longer an option.

So I'm looking for a replica. I see 29 pages here.. so please excuse my laziness.. can someone direct me to a good replica?

Also can I expect the Chrono to work on the replica?

There still isn't a super rep available. If you want the chrono to work, you need a Quartz or a manual wind with the wrong subdial spacing. Marvellous replica sells a pretty good option with manual wind. Otherwise most TDs can get you a more recent manual wind model but it's missing "professional" on the dial

I picked up one from MR a little while ago and love it! Would like to know where is the best place to pick up a closed case back that will fit it? Gens run almost the same price as the rep watch itself.

It's sort of a hybrid: it's the smaller size and wider spaced subdials of the reduced, but I haven't seen one with the 5,10,20 etc on the hour markers and the dial should say 'automatic'

Ahh, fair enough. While the pro looks nicer, it would be nice to see a great reduced rep since it would mean less nitpicking...

I know. I'm surprised they haven't attempted it properly. There's such a market for speedy reps. I guess the gen isn't that expensive, so maybe that's a disincentive

Yeah... but the Speedmaster Pro reps look nothing like the gen and way more like the reduced, so you'd think some genius would say "let's change the dial text on some and see how they sell."

But yeah, the gen reduced is what, around $1000 with box/papers? Really nearing the low end there...
