Well my question now is, as it would be wwwwwwway easier to rep (mostly because of the subdials spacing), when will the factories replicate the speedy reduced ?

I'll be putting this watch up for sale soon to fund my new purchase. Will have it on the M2M sales section by the weekend.

I'll be putting this watch up for sale soon to fund my new purchase. Will also come with Di-Model Rallye strap which really compliments it. PM if you're interested.

What you're attempting to do is a backdoor sale, and it is not allowed. Follow the rules to sell in the M2M section

Bought my Moonwatch a few weeks back from Puretime. Excellent service from those guys.
I've had some good compliments from people. They know it's a rep and mostly they're saying "Are you serious? That's a fake?"

Noob rep buyer here who joined the forums specifically in search of a Speedmaster rep. I've been reading through a number of threads in the forums including this one, and I'm still agonizing over what version to buy. I'm hoping for some guidance because it seems I can't find a version that meets my criteria exactly, so could you please suggest which version would come closest to what I'm looking for in your opinion. And if you could please provide a link or e-mail for a trusted dealer for that version?

I want the black version with three black dials and white dial markings and white "straight" hands. It seems to often be called the moon version, but I don't care much about the caseback or whether it's quarts or manual / automatic.

For me my criteria in order of importance are:

Well firstly I want a decent quality watch and I'm prepared to spend $300 on it if it's a great rep. But it seems that until now, nobody has put out a Speedy rep that nails it. So:

1) Want the face of the watch to be as close to gen as possible
- Correct dial spacing
- Dials have correct numbering
- Dials are recessed
- Says "professional" on the face
- Dials work
- Approx 40-42 mm width

2) Crystal is domed and NOT flat

--------- Below criteria are low priority for me

3) Dials sweep rather than tick

4) High quality movement

5) Caseback

6) Band / bracelet quality (I will be swapping in alternate bands anyway and rarely wear bracelet bands)

--------------

Based on all of this I have been leaning towards the torobravo Quartz version because of the correct dial spacing. However the numbering is wrong and the dials aren't recessed, they appear to just be stamped or perforated. Another quartz version on dhgate also has the numbering correct, dial spacing correct and dials are recessed. Most of what's on the face looks good but at < $80 for the watch and very few sales and feedback I am not convinced I'll be happy with it, I suspect the dials won't work and it'll fall apart after a bit of use.

I've seen a couple mechanical versions that look decent, have the spacing issue but then some of them have a flat crystal which is a deal breaker for me.

Would love to hear advice from people who've gone down the quartz path, or found a way to get a watch they're happy with, despite the challenges with each option.

I've been scouring more TD sites and searching old threads here in the forums and I came across a coaxial version of the Speedy that looks like it meets all my criteria, the design does away with the bottom dial which I guess was part of the spacing issue with the rep movement, but is not an issue in the coaxial design.

Below is an image of the rep, it's for this gen model, the Moonwatch Chronograph

It's for sale from a non-trusted TD but I can't find the same version (white second hand, white "Speedmaster" text) on any of the trusted TD sites. Has anyone bought this rep from a trusted TD, and if so, what did you think of it? Who did you source it through?

I see that tswatches.cn is also carrying a quartz version of the same version. Has anyone purchased either of these speedys, did you buy them from other dealers besides the two I've found them with? I really don't want them to have the red version that puretime has on theirs, and I think I'd rather go cheap on a quartz for now and debate saving for a gen or waiting for a better auto / manual rep to come out in the future.

@wolfie1010 kudos for reading before asking. Unfortunately there still aren't any great options. If you can't live with the subdial spacing, you can't have the manual wind version. The Quartz from toro is pretty good. Stay away from dhgate for the speedy. There's also an automatic version you should consider (don't have a link sorry)

I've contacted a few of the trusted dealers to see what options I may have in Quartz. Hopefully I'll have a speedy before long. Has anyone got pics of a Quartz Speedy that you've bought that you've been happy with?

Yes that's the one- Gen Hesalite pops right in- which makes a HUGE difference. I sold the watch and gave the new chap the blister pack so I'm not sure which crystal I bought from Ofrei. (But it maybe in one of my earlier posts).

Is MR back to having a site?

I'm thinking about doing the same thing: looks great! And no, MR is not back to having a site.

Did you do any modding/aging of the watch beside the hesalite? And any chance you have an email from Ofrei with the fitting size? I've just ordered the watch:)

I'm wondering if anyone who owns the 2013 rep can confirm the lug width? I saw it's supposed to be 19mm which makes it hard to find good straps. Anyone know for sure?

I can't wait for a super rep SP. On a dark green leather strap would look amazing.

Found it - the ofrei number-

Omega Crystal 063PW5139 OME-PW 5139 $52.00

Other than the usual rep bracket treatment- and maybe the case had a sharp edge- it’s been awhile but pretty simple stuff.
