I got all the workshop roof felt un furled as I did have to cut the ply back about 25mm to get the new sheets to tuck under, so insecure roof felt now, managed to get the corner piece in, nice fit, was hoping to get another 3 up and tack the felt back down.

The phone rang ....

That's the old girl gone, died at 5pm, probably have to take Mel over to the care home tonight, if not tomorrow, now we are sat in limbo waiting for Doctor to turn up and certify. It never rains but pours.

At least she has no pain now bless her.

Mel is phoning all the family, I sliced my hand open on a roofing sheet the one time I didn't have gloves on.

Be back soon when we can get some form of normality back (y)

OK, been very busy sorting everything out with Mel for her Mums funeral etc.
Her 2 sons came up from Kent / Essex on Saturday, we didn't know they were coming, nice surprise and they gave her some support and helped with sorting through to find paperwork needed for registering the death and life insurance, pension co's etc.

So I've had a couple of days back at the Car Port roof and also found time to pull the Rolex Chernobyl apart and fit the new Yellow Dial to it :giggle:

It's a really nice watch now, it's a good watch, the only issue I had was the original Dial was just feckin' awful 🤮
It's Colours and the Balloons were totally wrong :ROFLMAO:

I replaced it a while back with a much better and extremely good Celebration from @RepPossessed

Bit the bullet on 2 new purchases today, UK stock, a Rolex GMT Bruce Wayne with working GMT correct handstack, and Rolex Daytona 116500 LN quartzie, a very nice looking quartzie, to replace the doggy one I got way back.

I have a wee mod planned for that one including the same red Centre Sec and Subdial hands that I did to my 7750 White Dial Stainless Bezel Daytona, plus freeze the Subdial @3 as my OCD says that is just not right running round with the time hours ;)

Generic pics ....

My 2 latest buys arrived today, Daytona 116500LN and Bruce Wayne GMT, well happy with them :giggle:

The DT is gonna get modded, Glide Lock Clasp, Red Centre Second Hand, and 3 Red Subdial Hands, plus freeze the @3 Subdial hand at point Zero (y)

I often wonder if the Black Daytona is easier to read in real life than my Panda... it's near on impossible to tell the time, so much so that even though I love it I find myself putting on the Sub most of the time.... maybe i'm just old? 🤣

That's why I do the Red hands mod, did it to the White Dial DT, makes a huge difference with old eyes.

What I may do with Quartzie is to leave the Sub @ 6 hand silver, kinda separates the watch time hands from Chrono hands, but mainly it makes it way less easy, (read obvious), spotting the 3600 BPH "tick tick" watch time seconds from across a crowded football pitch :ROFLMAO:

@Dave2302 did you get a better quality celebration dial or just the yellow? I'm thinking of swapping out the green dial on the clean OP I won in this month's raffle

I bought a much better Celebration complete watch from @RepPossessed which I am over the moon with it's a great watch ;)

Dilemma then was what to do with the OP with crappy dial. Normally I give bad purchases to my grandson, but this one was (aside from the dial) a nice watch :)

So rather than go spend more to buy another complete watch, and having had a few experiences fixing some busted reps I looked around for a while to find a yellow dial, which came up on AliX .

I bought the dial and swapped it into the "Chernobyl" watch.
It has transformed the cheapo replica into a good looking Oyster Perp Yellow that keeps great time and feels good on the wrist.

I bought a Pepsi GMT a couple of days ago from RepSource, same fully working movement and quality as the Batgirl and the Bruce Wayne that I bought and reported on in this very thread.

I already have a Pepsi Meteorite, but it's just a ~ $50 DHG one, even so I do like the watch.
It's dial is pretty good, but GMT is fixed and the case / bezel is shite, so as my skills on the tiny tools is improving the plan is to install the Meteorite dial into the new Pepsi, and upgrade the bezel insert to CF or VSF if needs be.

Should be here when we return from our road trip (y)

Be interested to see how it turns out, I haven't seen a meteorite dial in the flesh so don't know what it really looks like? My heart says no, a bit too busy for my liking, but hey you never know. Happy travels!
