I'm 99% sure it's croc, as gator scales look different. But it is a very spectacular strap...!

I'll rephrase that:
I'm 99% sure it is NOT gator, but not so sure whether it could be something other than croc....:)

I don't know for sure. I picked it up in a M2M sale on another board and the seller couldn't remember if it was 'gator or croc'. He thought it was croc' and I'm inclined to think he's right.

Nice pickup! about to pull the trigger on a Kain Heritage alligator strap, but then I see this! Do anyone with experience with Kain and Orloff have any opinions? But the other reason I havn't pulled the trigger on the KH alligator strap is because of this damn watch! Should I go for the watch? or strap? watch? strap? watch? strap? watch? strap? watch?...:wyliehelp:

Where the bluegrass sways!
Orloff does make a fine strap! Here is a pic of mine I bought with the "Ghost" from Del.

My 312 arrived today I put my Serge D Croc strap on it! Just snapped a few down and dirty pics get time for full shoot this week.

The CP issue is there but you really have to get macro shot or lupe to view it! Mine I guess, is not as bad as some?

Serge D does phenomenal work also.
I have a dozen or so of his straps custom done for me. They are superb!

I keep looking at mine, just to check it's still gorgeous.
It is.

This looks to be a leg pattern of a Gator...It also could possibly be leg from an Ostrich??

So does everyone think its better to wait till the next batch for the printing to be corrected on the rotor?

My 312 v1, from Angus, was an amazing watch, basically the one I most regret selling but it had to go because my friend J bought a GEN and he has never spotted any of my (modded) reps, which he has had in his hands several times. This is the guy that introduced me to Panerai, so now with all this hype about this KV version and the inverted typos in the engraving of the 'new movement' , as much as I'd like to get this one, I must wait for a better version.....

Please don't go wrong !!
They are not inverted typos, it is a complete inverted movement. Some inscriptions are inverted to get a similar stuff, they will be always wrong, the position is a taste matter. It actually is an A7750 nicely decorated like a P.9000. No solutions until the real P9000 clone
You must wait for years

This escapes me. A V1 would have a totally wrong bridges/rotor, how in the world someone with gen 312, handed the V1 and cannot spot it? Must be a very considerate friend.

You will be waiting for a long time before you buy a rep 312 that will fool your friend. As others have said, the problem here is not just text on the rotor. It is completely the wrong movement. Efforts have been made to make it look like the P9000 but nobody who knows the real movement would be fooled.

Here's a thought.... be honest with your friend - tell him it's a rep.

Sorry, but no.

I emailed orloff about this stap. We'll see what he says.

If you get any info, I'd be interested to know.

By coincidence I was looking at straps on the Paneristi site yesterday and saw someone selling an Orloff that's described as 'Nile River Croc'. Similar grain pattern?

It escaped you because you misread granvino's statement. Read it again. ;)

Thanks Mysterio..., my friend never had my V1 in his hands. He has seen other modded reps I own: 005k, 000, 390 and my Marlin 127. Like some of the members here, this watches are mounted on very fine straps from Gunny, Orloff and Dirk. This version of a 312 seems to have that 'gen feel and look', but after the 'Marlin revolution' for open caseback Noob reps, I just have to pass and simply enjoy looking at all the pics you have and will post.

lol ALE the CP is clearly recessed, no worries on this flaw, let's just get them to fix it for Version 2.
