oh wow even on gen too. I thought the gen 15400 had instant date change like the 15500, it’s what’s held me up from the 15400 but now I feel kinda stupid lol

From my observation.12 marker on this looks too long just like the JF 15450 dials. The lume fill on the hands too look too fat, similar to JF.

I think @legend may have personal experiences with the date change of both gen and rep 4302 and 3120 movements.

Prime candidate for a Franken. I'll see if they have a black dial version, otherwise I'll have to go gen black date disc too.
Anyone have pics of the blue dial? Curious how they executed the color. The tapisserie isn't good enough, but maybe it looks okay enough.

I like the sunburst on these but they remind me of the old jf dials with great sunburst but it has the ‘pimples’ dial. Similar to what we see above for the ipf.

might have just been the angle and quality of the pic
i believe that any royal oak model really needs a gen dial anyways to show it’s full complexity
some black dials might be acceptable or somewhat close to gen but after going franken on a silver 15400 i feel like that’s the only option
therefore… dont care about the dial but the rest seems promising to mod/franken
also keep in mind that gen dials are available fairly resonable atm for the 15450

I suspect the date being a little to one side will be one of the things you will have to live with. As long the indices are well aligned I would keep it, as the alignment of the date can normally be improved.
The date wheel on the grey and blue, I think is the same, so I am leaning to order a grey, and then look out for a grey or blue dial for sale.
There were a couple of dials on eBay for around $1000 each that coincidently sold within a few days of this model being announced, so pricing is likely to increase.

date wheel being the same on blue and gray do you mean the same color? because i doubt that… they should be each color themed according to dial color, at least on gen
i might try to find a ZF 15400 grey date wheel
i snatched up the grey one from ebay the second i read about the release
it has no instant date change you can see about minute 5,50
