WoW. These are some awesome pics that do a fantastic job of showing how these are put together. And when you see that it makes sense.

Trying to look at that and visualize how they're made, with no perfect standardization process, they split the insert that way with thr two colors and inlay afterwards. No wonder it's so difficult to get that transition on the same spot.

It makes you appreciate noob because, while the transition point was bad, they have one thing that we're still having trouble getting even months later. Consistency.

It may have been off but it was consistent.

Talk about garbage insert, look at the just accepted QC pics of my 126710BLNR from VRF. The fonts are decent but that 18 transition and bump in 6 is killing me. Anyways, this is a donor watch that I purchased for the movement and dial.

that’s a vrf, huh? They’ve come a long way with their inserts in a short time. If they’re producing that, it makes you wonder why they’re producing those skinny ass, different sized, ugly 1s on the LN model.

The noob is still the best Pepsi insert but it’s still too much off color for me to do another Pepsi build still waiting for a good insert...

But what you think of this one ?

Gotta say, GMF did nicely with the correct transition split at 18, and no visible speed bumps in these pics. The Pepsi 6 transition does not look so neat. Let’s wait for the video.

Puretime has ID'ed them now bro. Price is $488
Showing $468 to me. Must have realized $488 was asking a lot, lol. Curious about why they are calling it a 3285? It's marked 3186- it's a VR3185, as best as I can tell. I can't imagine they made it larger with a bigger barrel...

3285 is just marketing hype to "match" the gen. I doubt they ever will try to engrave the 126710 movements that way, too much trouble. Then they would have to separate which movement goes with what model. We'll just say that's what it is. It's a pretend world after all, haha.

$468, yes. Typo or misread, IDK. A huge bargain compared to Noob either way. Noob Pepsi is $668, Batman is $648, both timebombs. Noob is going to have to come around now, unless VR is boycotting them from their movements.

If noob fixed the bezel transitions on their inserts and upgraded the movement I would gladly buy them..

what we’ve been seeing so far is there is a lot of inconsistency with the inserts and the transition. Most of the dealers use pics of a good insert but when we see QCs, the insert is all over.

hopefully they manage to get some consistency. Because that would be clutch.

Yeah... call me a skeptic. At least until we start seeing some movements. I think the TDs, when putting up pics of movements, I don’t want to say they put up just anything, but when they’re loooking at thumbnails probably can’t tell the difference from one to the other and they just pull up any movement pic. Or it could be like tapatalk where you select pic 1, 2, 3, and 4 to upload and picture 2, 2, 5, and 7 load.

I remember when the vrf and the ARF first came out, puretime and trusty time both had the same 3185 pictured on the ARF, VRF, and noob.

I think we may have seen one vr movement in a GMF (Right?) but I think I need to see a few more (at least one) before I believe they’re using it as opposed to it just being a random pic on a TD website.

edit to add... I just looked at the listing and it’s described as a SA 3285 but the VR3186 is pictured.

That would be hilarious. I've never been a noob fan- always seem overpriced to me. To each his own, though-

I don’t know the dynamics and politics of the rep factories but it would make a lot of business sense to do this. Not so much a boycott but to just maintain control over the distribution of their movements.

I mean if it was Rolex and another company like Omega, wed expect nothing less.

if it was between two organized crime organizations/families in the USA, we would expect the same or most likely see this same behavior.

the rep world and rep factories probably aren’t too far off. I know we often discuss things like they’re this big world of open communication but there’s no reason to believe that or think that.

Based on what I’ve read about these factories and their R&D and marketing “departments”, there is no reason to think they don’t carefully consider decisions like this and how it affects market share, brand image, brand loyalty.

Wonder if GMF fixed their rehaut issue. I remember buying a GMF GMT last year, the watch was nice, but the rehaut was horribly engraved on the left side of the case, everything was out of alignment.

If they fixed it, the batman looks like a good buy while we wait for better options.
