Wonder if GMF fixed their rehaut issue. I remember buying a GMF GMT last year, the watch was nice, but the rehaut was horribly engraved on the left side of the case, everything was out of alignment.

If they fixed it, the batman looks like a good buy while we wait for better options.

I rejected a $1K GMF wrapped Bluesy for that very reason and got 3 other reps in its place.

It looks like GMF has gotten a new batch of cases, the pics on TSWATCH show much better rehaut alignment. I agree this is the best Batman OOTB atm, especially now that it comes with the VR3185.

Some of those hands have light reflections on them, but yeah some aspects are almost as bad as the gen.

Thats not just ‘wear n tear’ KJ2020? I mean i know that picture is very zoomed in but you’d expect a solid line separating the ‘stem’ and ‘point’ on a gen given the price you pay. (I dont know the proper names haha)

Here’s my GMF - taking out the timebomb for a 3185, guess I ordered too early. Transitions aren’t great but is what it is....

IDK about you, but I'd be completely happy with that insert. Transitions look pretty good to me. Let us know how the swap out goes, with those V2s on sale, I was considering the same project. I thought the 2836 was the drop in replacement for the timebomb- what kind of work is involved in putting a 3185 in there?

I have a GMF v1 of the pepsi and batman...but went with the 2836 movement when it first dropped. You see this nice deal being offered.
but what am I missing on V2 vs GMF v3....or even the V9F.
crystal height looks nice on v3...wish there were pics for v2. The 3185/6 are both OK as movements go? its really starting to get confusing.
went through many QC pics to not get the transition bump on my batman and the pepsi and a slight transition which isn't actually a bump
it was a crevasse. to the natural eye it looked like a bump. when magnified, it was actually a gap and I had the 6 o'clock one filled no bump at
18 which was nice. so its nice to wear. but crystal height is a no go. also the bezel clicks are terrible at best.

It's not just the speed bumps that get to me. It's the abrupt transitions of all BLNR inserts in the market. In the gen, the transition is just a tiny bit gradual, just like the BLRO, instead of being a super sharp and clearly defined line we see on reps. Unfortunately until the manufacturing process is similar, this will never be achieved, but if Noob can make the BLRO insert, here's hoping that the BLNR insert can be made in a similar way too.

Your insert is not bad at all and much better than many others, NOOB, VRF, V9F.

A 3185 will not be a 1:1 swap for a 2824 CHS timebomb. You will need a custom movement holder and all new hands, assuming the movement will fit. I know of this being done only in a Noob 2824 CHS case, never in a GMF.

Crystal height on all GMF 2824 CHSs (which is all of the V2s) is ridiculous.

Crystal is 2.0mm, gasket 3.0mm

I swapped in a Clark's with AR cyclops

Crystal is 1.8mm, gasket 2.6mm

This wont work as a straight swap to the 2824 CHS, the second hand will hit the crystal underside and needs to be shaved.

Second hand catching on GMT crystal

Get a VR3185 movement for best reliability.

Sorry see above where it’s said it’s no 1:1. Is there any movement that can replace the time bomb?

Same here, ordered my batman gmf v3 too early and got the timebomb movement and it's all f*cked up fresh out of the factory. Well u can't be lucky all the time I guess.

Now that both the GMF and VRF BLNRs come with a VR3185 movement, which is great. What’s the general view on which is the better quality/finishing, putting aside the bezel insert which seems a bit hit and miss on both of them?

From what I’ve read the VRF seems to have a better dial and hands, but I’m happy to be corrected. Thanks in advance.

KJ2020 My friend not sure if you remember, about 3 weeks ago where there was a discussion on this thread regrading the GMF V3 coming with VR's stock. I said on page 46 I would confirm when mine came so I just received mine today and it does have a VR. It has the gold staff shock absorber.

I have taken your advice on setting the time and boy winding from 9th to 8th date takes a while in crown 3 position. 60 odd whole rotations. The Jubilee is light in weight I think compared to Oyster so it feels flimsy, but it's not the quality, I think it's just the weight makes it feel that way.

GMF bezel is the best OOTB, the VRF is quite possibly the worst. There's not a big enough difference between dial/hands for anyone to contemplate going VRF. The only pull was the movement which is now the same across both.

Thanks for the confirmation on the movement bro. That's great news!

Especially with the VR, you can use hour jumping to set the date, but I would avoid setting the date backwards just as a precaution. That's just me, plenty of ppl use this movement like the gen. TBH I don't like to set my gen backwards and generally I don't.

A compromise on any rep GMT for date setting is to hour jump from 3AM to 9PM on the dial (18 jumps), then switch to position 3 and advance the hands forward manually from 9PM to 3AM which changes the date. Repeat for each needed date change. This keeps the stress off the jump click during date changes and dramatically reduces the time needed to advance each date. I use this technique even on the 2824 CHS timebomb, which I still have several of.

Of course if it's just one or even two days off the wrong way I've been known to just pull the stem and wait it out ;)
