What is the code I would be looking for? Or what is the v9 code and what is GMF code

Sent from the RWI App

You can find those on dealer website pics

GMF 126710 - 6MW
GMF 116710 - 5XZ

V9F 126710 - D1R
V9F 116710 - F7Z

This is not always an ironclad ID method due to batch changes but it's usually pretty accurate.

So this is the SA3186 right?

Just making notes on spotting diferences in the movmemnts. Looks like this one also has the "gold colored balance staff shock absorber" (Cite KJ2020), can't be certain if the balance spring is blue or not with my eyes?

I suppose one big tell on this one is the finish.

Actually I cancelled my cancell and getting more QCs ????

Sent from the RWI App

That was a disaster. Translation: I cancelled the cancel and am getting more QCs today. Will ask for a clasp pic. Marv is INSISTENT that it’s a GMF. But we shall see. I’m probably going to take the watch because if the movement is the good one, I can spongebob or noleex the bezel later in life when I’m bored and have a solid solid watch. Thx for the advice guys

This does not have the gold colored balance staff shock absorber bro. It has a gold colored shock absorber SPRING, same as almost every movement including ETAs. Look at these pics to see the difference. Also the SA3186 (and the SA3135 on which it is based) has no paint on the teeth of the red reversing gears, and on the balance assembly the regulator arm and the beat corrector arms are reversed.

KJ2020 damn thought i had it there!!

Goes to show you need a keen eye for this stuff, i was only looking at the inner spring, didnt even notice the colour difference on the parts around the outside of it. Good to know i need to be looking at the 'outer' part of shock absorber to distinguish between the movement.. saved my blushed there!

Thanks as always for the information!

Ok well I got the QCs in. On first glance this is what I noticed:
- blue doesn't go into the 8 enough on the bezel
- date window appears to be slightly off but tough to tell from the angle
I have asked the TD for more QCs in better light. He also told me he thinks that blue transition is the best he may be able to do. Obviously I saw some other posters in this thread have a better transition so I know its a crapshoot, and its better than having it high into the 8. Curious as to what your thoughts are. I probably could live with the low 8 transition if need be

There seems to e a common flaw in some GMT Master II : the hour hand being way off. Like my GMF v3, but mine is

not as bad as this one (this being GMF Batman as well?). I wonder is this the GMF problem only?

I just saw the pics quoted and this pic - or the watch in the pic looks absolutely filthy too. It looks like there is a lot of dust and dirt in the insert numbers. The insert looks like it has grease and dirt caked on it. I am just shocked someone would send these out as QC pics.

Which TD did you get it from. I’m
Also shocked at the consistent low light in both of our photos

Short additional update on the V9F, that looks good on the first look, same as noobs but if you take a second closer look there are many issues on the quality side:

You can find those on dealer website pics

GMF 126710 - 6MW
GMF 116710 - 5XZ

V9F 126710 - D1R
V9F 116710 - F7Z

This is not always an ironclad ID method due to batch changes but it's usually pretty accurate.

Well this is crazy. That watch has a “5XZ” in the clasp. So it looks like it is in fact a GMF with the good movement. I think I am just going to take it at this point...

I just want to clarify or ask... that you’re pointing out issues on the V9F factory gmt. This is not the GMF. Just in case someone misreads it.

Guys, when you are quoting a previous post with a lot of pics, try to choose just one or two (or none) to include in the quote. We don't need to keep scrolling through the same pics over and over!

You're right mate, it doesn't make sense. In fact I tried to edit the quote It just was too difficult to do in this tablet view. Too little space Should have changed to laptop with mouse.

jdoc77, mine was from jtime. GMF v3. It's visually and all just fine, but the hour hand and gmt hand are not aligmed and the datewheel/change of the date messes up too. -And didn't detect it from the qc pics. I'm not going to have it repaired, it goes as a work watch, I'm giving it hard time at work. :D

After receiving the VR by mistake the last QC run, is this definitely V3? Also I see a slight speed bump so not sure if I could get better?

Well that's good news bonus for you. I wonder if GMF just ran out of the SA3186s temporarily or they switched to VR3185 for good.
