AFAIK - somebody correct me if I'm wrong) GMF uses SH3285 movement while CF uses a -some say better - Dangdong VR3285 but they are not interchangeable, anyhow you can't get VR3285 anyhow, while SH3285 is available from AliX.
The SH3285 and VR3285 are the same movement. The SH/VR3285 is widely available and is used by many factories in their GMTs and explorer iis. Clean factory exclusively has the Dandong dd3285 movement which they use in the CF GMTs. There is no dd3285 explorer II yet. But we all hope cf will release one soon.

I would go for one with the vr movement. According to my Infos they are a lot more reliable and more stable than the Standard Asian movements …

The VR/SH3285 movement is not very reliable. I’ve seen at least three broken setting levers (red arrows) on my bench. And I’ve seen surface rust on a brand new setting lever spring (blue arrow). My $0.02 is that it’s worth waiting for a dd3285 powered explorer 2.

Ok, thats Bad News acc to the vr movements. I agree that a explorer 2 with dd3235 would be the best 👍

It's a certain type of bike chain wax, it goes on wet but dries up in a minute or so when exposed to air. Leaves a waxy residue. Supposed to help with repelling dust/dirt/water.

I soak my bracelet in it, inside of a little zip lock pouch. I move each individual link, and make sure it's had a chance to get in. Then I take it out and let it dry, and then use dish soap and a toothbrush to take remove it from the outside of the bracelet.

I bought a new explorer II from a grey market dealer. The seller has 100’s of verified transactions over and vetted on the Rolex forums, so I have no reason to be suspicious, but I honestly can’t tell the difference when I look at these reps here and my watch or images of other gens. So what do you all think? Gen?

Congrats bro!

That's definitely a Gen no doubt. You can tell by the finishing of the hands and the dial indices, and the perfectly centered date

Thanks! Good to know. I think a lot of people over on TRF’s are oblivious to how good some of these reps are these days. I honestly can’t tell the difference between yours and mine, the finishing on yours looks pretty damn good to me.

The movement in my GMF Explorer II broke the day I received it and my watchmaker was not able to fix it. What are my options if I want the watch running?
