I had mine serviced. And swapped out the setting lever for gen. It's been solid! Can't complain.how's the movement holding up in these for the people who own them? looking at getting one but read a few reports of it being unreliable

I would very much like to have mine serviced. Can't find anyone local that will do anything with it, and reached out to a couple different US contacts through RWI with no luck. Don't really want to it to go through customs again.I had mine serviced. And swapped out the setting lever for gen. It's been solid! Can't complain.
Wow, you couldn’t find anyone in the States here on this forum to service your watch? That doesn’t sound too good for the rest of us,. There’s got to be a watchmaker or two or three in the CONUS who can do the work. Maybe you just didn’t find one yet.I would very much like to have mine serviced. Replacing some with Gen parts would be fine with me. Watch looks great, just the movement is failed.
Wish I could find someone here that could fix it with reliable parts. Would be great.
Glad you have yours working well.
I reached out to a few trusted on the forum, to no happy result. I may have missed someone. Would still very much like to get the explorer 2 up and running. Great looking watch and would be a great travel watch with all it has to offer. One local shop thought they could fit another movement into it, but would not function like it should.Wow, you couldn’t find anyone in the States here on this forum to service your watch? I think it would be soon in 2 month@CTime Is there any update on the Clean Explorer 2? Or should I just shoot on the GMF
All over this. Thanks for the updateI think it would be soon in 2 month
The SH3285 shouldn’t have a 72 hour power reserve (despite what the marketing says)… to get a 72 hour power reserve the escapement (escape wheelchair pallet fork, and balance wheel) need to mimic the gen Rolex chronenergy design. Dandong has done so on the VS3235 and DD3285; but Shanghai has not on the vr3235 nor the SH3285. The chronenergy escapement design has a wonky skewed sideways looking pallet fork resulting in a higher lift angle. But it requires less energy per vibration (these movements vibrate 4 times per second). Less energy means a thinner (but longer) mainspring can be used for a given mainspring barrel diameter. A longer mainspring means longer power reserve.Hope clean release an explorer 2 that they get the lume right on the polar dial as hands and dial still don’t quite match on the newest GMF version.
Also gmf’s movement still isn’t reliable. had mine a week before it just stop working Tried to get it repaired locally, watch guy couldn’t figure out what was wrong. so had no choice but to ask my TD to if they could repair it. Sent it back came back few months later and is now working fine.
I don’t think it keeps a full 72hr reserve not even 48hrs Its stopped a few times 8hrs after I’ve taken it off in the morning it’s stopped. However hasn’t stopped while wearing so for now seems ok.
My point is if clean do everything Gmf have done and fix the lume and movment to a DD or VR I think it could be a NWBG contender in both the polar and black dial options just my opinion.
Hope that helps anyone on the fence about going GMF or holding out for CLEANS rumored version.
Thanks for the info, as I said I’m not to fussed if it has a 72hr or 48hr as long as I can wear it without it stopping like my first one did while wearing I’m happy, not fussed on the movement at the end of the day as long as it works and is reliable you now.The SH3285 shouldn’t have a 72 hour power reserve (despite what the marketing says)… to get a 72 hour power reserve the escapement (escape wheelchair pallet fork, and balance wheel) need to mimic the gen Rolex chronenergy design. That sucks. I’m sorry. You’ll need a new setting lever to get it working again.Received mines a week ago...
You guessed it, broken already. Same symptoms described by many members above: can wind, can't set jumper hand, can set GMT hand but jumper hand moves as well.
Sorry to hear that - Mind worked OK as part of my rotation but I didn't hold onto it for long. Didn't realise these GMF's had issues like thisReceived mines a week ago...

Believe when I see it. First it was May last year, then September, then beginning '24. Don't let us down Clean.Fyi for those looking at this thread, as of this post time CTime says Clean's variant with the DD3285 will come out this month
