Middle Axis View

The Middle Axis is already very close to Gen,It is the best shape the factory can make today, It would be perfect if the cut-outs were a little smaller.

Rehaut Side View

The Rehaut engraving has always been clean's strong point, and the underlining is very clear, with the slight disadvantage of the crown form, Mouth is a bit crooked, which should only be an isolated engraving problem.

Crown side view

When in winding position after the crown has been unscrewed (Fig. 2), The shank shaft has the same length and threads as Gen. The sharp corners of the teeth are very rounded and more pronounced than even the Gen.

Case side view

With a case made 1 to 1, The side shape is definitely not a problem.

Endlink side view

There is a certain amount of sink, both inside and outside, especially on the inside, where the height difference and curvature are exactly the same as on the Gen. The sinking of the outer tips is noticeable and a bit greater than the Gen .

Backcase view

The teeth of the bottom cover are particularly rounded, all appearing to be a certain width, and the brushed lines in various areas are clear.

Strap detail view

Without going into too much detail about the strap, it's worth noting that the engraving on the Clean does have that Gen flavor to it.
Thanks, Steve. Terrific thread.

How's the lume? How's the build quality?

Thanks, my friend.

I have thought about replacing the movement too. My BP has 3230 and it had scratchy winding, but got smoother after a few months. The crown tube thread feels delicate too, and a couple of times the watch has stopped while wearing it, so maybe there's a problem with the rotor.

If I knew what I was doing I'd swap out the movement (maybe not with gen Eta) and tube... as it stands, the new Clean Explorer with correct 19mm lugs is looking tempting
i think i saw some post on reddit about placing a vs 3130 into it. def a more reliable movement if so

Steve, i'm back after a 6 yr break & have to say... your post is fantastic. I lost heart more than a few years ago when factories could never get the cases closer to Gen. I recently watched some you tube vid's on Clean factory & it's reignited my interest. This is the first thread I've viewed after coming back on RWI & WOW i'm blown away with your comparison & how good the Clean Factory is. Many Thanks from an old timer starting Rep Buying again.

Thank you very much for this detailed comparison. It's nice to see still work on the 39mm version. I think the size is really reasonable for most wrists.

My wrist is 7 1/8 and yes it is the 39 mm. I don’t have any experience with the 36CF but the finish is very good. In fact I cannot find fault with this rep.

Newbie here. The 36mm CF is excellent to me. The finishing is almost perfect from the dial to the bracelet, the sapphire crystal is very clear and LEC looks good, and the movement is running approx +1s/d after demagnetizing and keeping it fully wound. STEEL INOX on the bracelet has been fixed too.

I chose to adjust the dial for the rehaut. The rehaut and dial were slightly misaligned with the 12 o’clock marker between the 4th and 5th tines of the coronet. This is normal in QC photos and affects even gen. I fixed the alignment by unscrewing the movement and rotating it a smidgen like 0.1 or 0.2mm before screwing it back in. The 12 o’clock marker now aligns with the middle of the coronet and looks perfect.

While not gen (compare the pinion of the seconds hand) CF 124270 is an excellent piece. P.S. factory water resistance is good too, okay in shower.

Also bought the CF!
Build feels solid (noisy rotor though but apparently also a thing in gen with ball bearing rotors)
Movement running great.
Finish is excellent.
Bracelet is great.
Crown is not that big of an issue as people complain about.

Only thing that dissapoints is the crystal.
It’s clear (no pun intended) but doesn’t make the dial POP. Only in certain angles. But dead-on it’s ‘meh’.

Maybe that’s the AR being applied only to the bottom of the crystal.

Also, the bezel scratches like crazy 😁

I also bought one because of the many positive reviews about it.
Nice to see even more of them appear after ordering.
