Another one ordered from Steve. Trusty is always my go-to but after Steve put in the work on those comparison shots and videos, it felt right to buy from him. I was 90% convinced to go the gen route, but if the Clean quality and the 19mm bracelet is enough of a step up from my BP 124270, then the gen funds can go elsewhere.

You definitely won't regret it! I love my cf.
I had the same path ahead, rocking the clean 124270 for a couple of weeks now and it made nearly all my other watches box bitches.
I have a 16.5cm wrist.
The 39mm is nice. Bear in mind that the dial has huge presence as there is no contrasting bezel (like in a sub or a DJ)
pretty sure I will order a 36mm too and maybe keep both.
The quality and finish are out of this world
Sadly I sold the BP a couple of days before I stumbled on the Clean in M2M, so I had'nt had a chance to do real life comparison pics between the two. But still, I share here my feeling about the Clean vs BP.
So far the BP has been a very good OOTB Explorer 1 rep : solid build, easily waterproofed, with a great dial and overall feeling. Good enough for its pricepoint.
A great replica then, but I must say the Clean is one level up. Bracelet and clasp feels much better, the dial, hands, rehaut and crystal are above too. Lume is stronger and case engravements are nicely done.
So, where the BP was good it still felt like a replica, the Clean gets closer to gen, with great finishings and a stronger feeling of the real deal. Instant classic and keeper to me.

I will have another clean in hand soon, going to enjoy trying to find any differences with my gen. The only difference I’ve noticed so far, is the gen links are not the same size length wise (very very tiny amount)

as long as we don't stick our watches under the store shelves yellowish light, I could not catch any diff in look or in finish...apart from having a multiple thousands piece in hand (that you can't buy) while the staff is staring at you
Interesting, I’ll definitely do a comparison under magnification. I know photos can sometimes be hard to tell.

I ordered one (36) because of that two weeks ago and since then it only became even more better.
I’m really curious how I will think about it and am expecting it the upcoming week.
It has to replace my 116234 ARF Datejust 36 which was already perfect according to me.
the Exp1 is a strange watch. It's not as flashy as the fluted DJ but the numerals do sparkle in the light.
It's definitely an intriguing piece. Because it's relatively simple to replicate (no exact shade of pepsi bezel,or Tiffany blue), and nobody will ever notice it on your wrist anyway it has to really feel like an Explorer.
I love the Explorer 1, it's the most versatile Rolex watch IMO. It can be sporty, classy, fits any occasions. Although the reps are getting close to NWBIG, it may be one Rolex I'd actually buy gen.
I opened the Clean this morning for seals greasing and wet pressure test. It alternatly went from 3 to 6ATM without a scratch.
No dirt nor abuse of grease, gaskets and inner case were quite clean (no pun intended
) and the CB screws in/out progressively.
The VR3132 engravements could be better but they do the job (closed caseback, who cares anyway).
Winding feels a bit gritty, a service would probably solve that but the stem release button has a good feeling, and when pushing it back in it locks firmly in the keyless (winding position).
All in all, this 3132 clone seems fairly good. And I can say mine keeps very good time (will put on timegrapher soon).
The best point is the clasp. I never scrutinized the gen with a macro but the Clean feels very good when playing with it. And it sure does look very good too. No sharp angles at all (bracelet links are also very smooth) and the rounded edges and beveled parts are top notch.
