The best point is the clasp. I never scrutinized the gen with a macro but the Clean feels very good when playing with it. And it sure does look very good. No sharp edges at all (bracelet links are very smooth too) and the rounded edges and beveled parts are top notch.

Agree that the clasp is a highpoint
I like the winding action. It's much better than the 2836 of the BP, where it was the only thing I did not like.

I feel the bracelet is a bit better too

The 3132 is fine. Agree that the engravings are a little bit sloppy, but hey they still look good to naked eyes

TBH, watch in hand at the AD, the gen felt more gen 😅 if you see what I mean

but then again, the context might have influenced me badly

The CF watch itself is by far the best rep I have handled. @Humanologist had a gen Exp1 and was saying he struggles to find a major diff

I’ll also mention….and this is going to get people excited. The Renault looks a bit off on my gen. So take that for what it’s worth Hah.

very nice. to take out the stem do you have to keep the crown in winding position or hand setting position?

Totally agree with that. I got a bit picky here as the winding and settings on this VR3132 feel faaaar better than the older 2836.

It's very much about feel for me. 500$ is not cheap, rep or not, so it has to feel quality. I'm a bracelet guy, whether it's a rattly, stretched vintage jubilee or a modern one with cast components, slide locks. The bracelet on my BP Exp is okay, some sharp edges aside, although it's too wide.
Scratchy winding I can live with. If this watch is a keeper, and quashes my urge to go gen, I wouldn't be averse to putting an ETA in it or something.

you don't need to. CF has a Rolex movement clone. A good service when needed and you are all set

Ah - I had assumed the BP and CP Exp 1 use the same movement. CF uses a better one?

Note:
the Chinese confuse us with this all the time.
e.g. a so called SA313x could come from different Shanghai Fact ( there are two existing there) or even from Dangdong Factory
and these while work similar are technically and in quality different.

CF today uses often movements from dangdong factory (VSF started with them) and VR where applicable (VR comes from the better quality Shanghai factory).

However, don’t get confused about VS/VR/SH/SA acronyms as the Chinese backyard assemblers using these mostly for their marketing purposes (& to confuse you into buying their shit for extra money) sometimes

on theonewatches they say the clean uses VR?
