It’s crazy because on your wrist the 36 mm looks like it’s proportioned perfectly but you’re right, those close-up pictures play tricks on your mind. I have no idea why the Exp model bracelet doesn’t gradually taper drop the case, which imo would have more of a seamless elegance. I have watched comparison videos of the 36 mm to the 39 mm ad nauseam.

Honestly now I'm waiting for the 40mm to be repped well (not JVS) and I'll pick one up as well.

It wears small, it feels smaller than my Datejust 36. I was correct that my dial was shifted left. But otherwise it's solid.

Just ordered this CL version of the Exp 39mm from theonewatch. Got QC within a couple of days of order and the pics look very good. Steve has been very communicative and answering questions and comments quickly. Can’t wait to get it…

I had the BP version, and other than the bracelet I thought it was a quality rep.

I’ve never had a CF watch, but I often see grumbles around the crystals. When someone receives the 39mm, can you kindly give an update on the Crystal in different lights/angles.

Honestly I have the BP 39 and CF 36. I think BP 39 and Clean 39 will be practically identical in terms of looks, since BP 39 is damn near NWBIG and the 2836/2824 is superior to the 3130. I only got CF 36 for correct lug width and hands.

No one is ever looking in the back of my Explorer 1, not even me. So I would definitely prefer to have a reliable movement over something with gen engravings on.

No one is ever looking in the back of my Explorer 1, not even me. So I would definitely prefer to have a reliable movement over something with gen engravings on.

I would always take a 2824/2836 in my replica watch. Unless it somehow detracts from the thickness/stem height or aesthetics of the watch.

Not to knock the VR3130, it's reliable, but if it breaks it's just a hassle to source and repair. And it doesn't really provide anything - the 39mm Explorer is a closed case back, 3 hand watch. Why do you need a clone movement?

What is the problem with BP bracelet? I have 39mm Explorer from BP and I like bracelet. I haven’t much experience with reps, so maybe thats the problem

With all reps, it al boils down to preference. And to be clear, the BP bracelets is good and not a million miles away from gen. But, in my opinion, it’s not the best.
With Explorer1 you didn’t used to have much option other than BP, but that seems to be changing.

Lugs on the Clean look slightly thicker than Gen.
I wish they would thin the lugs slightly and improve the rehaut engraving. Crown shape too.
VR3230 engravings also could be better.
But apart from these, much better than other factories.

My clean Explorer 39 arrived today and there is a little play on the SELs. I have been told this is due to low quality spring bars. I will buy new springs bar but not sure which one to buy? Someone can help me choosing the right one? I think the bracelet is 19mm but the spring should be 20mm?
