The movement itself is great. Power reserve is great, as known on DD3235 already. I have the feeling there is no winding issue anymore that was common on the VS 3235 base movements. The rotorscrew was broken on arrival but that was a shipping problem, happens i guess:)

When you go for a GMT the CF is the watch to go. Small mods and you got a NWBIG watch.

Thanks for the probs, appreciate it.
Awesome, good to hear. Besides the rotor screw problem.

I’ve taken inventory of a handful of small mods I’ve read about on here. The bezel mod you shared being one of them. If I may, what are the others that you did, or will do, that will make this 126710 BLNR with the DD3285 “NWBIG”?

-I am going to do the bezel mod
-have the movement inspected and cleaned up by one of the trusted vendors (U.S.based)
-bracelet and case edge softening
-Rehaut polish
-deep xtal swap

Rehaut polish is nonsense for me, CF is at a so high level these days. Bracelet and case edge softening? Seems like someone wants to pull off your money lol. Xtal swap may be interesting, but for me not so important. After bezel mod i am dine and will wear this watch.

I agree with the comments around not needing any edge work done. However, i have it on Jubilee. I wouldn't bother with the rehaut polishing either. I did add the Deep xtal......heres how that looks.

Thanks for sharing. Looks killer! I can’t wait to get mine.

Did you swap the crystal? If not, who did for you?

I did do it myself. I bought my first 2 Reps, this one and a Submariner. I watched many videos and read many of the threads on here, many from @KJ2020 . The best thing I did was buy good tools. I am relatively handy and good with tools but I have never worked on watches before. Removing the bezel and changing the xtals was my first mod but I just bought a used 3135 movement and I am now learning about all of the other watch making things that go with this hobby.

I dont live far from you and from what I can tell there are a few watch makers in our area that are willing to do this wok but they are very busy......

Right on. That inspires confidence. Thanks for the heads up.

I read a good beginner tools post by @Oascom yesterday. In order to do @derjenigewelcher bezel click spring mod, I’ll need instructions on how to remove the bezel and might as well do the xtal while I’m at it. I’ll keep my eye out for relevant posts by @KJ2020

Nothing easier than this;)

Here you can see how to remove the bezel:

(From minute 3).

Alternative to add tape over the bezel opener knifetool (you can find it on Aliexpress by the way for a few bucks...) simply clamp a plastic bag that you have left over from the previous replica you ordered between the bezel knife and the watch so that no metal-to-metal scratches can occur.

Even better would be this tool here, but I work with one like the one in the video.

Here:

For changing X-tals im not yet the correct man to ask, but check out youtube is always a good idea for those things;)

Hope i could help.

Also in the club of waiting for the root beer 126711 DD3285 on an oyster bracelet. Been a couple months now… but I would rather wait another couple months if that’s what it takes to get an improved batch.

I take it a xtal swap would improve water resistance on a CF, am I right?
It's not the crystal, they are all shaped the same if they are gen-spec. It's the crystal gasket and the crystal retaining ring fit to the case.

I used a Startime 2.7mm gasket on a CF GMT DD3285 case and it pressure tested to 3 bar. Not risking anything higher than 3 bar. I think it's got enough room for hand clearance...at least it did on my test movement. I'll know for sure when I get a chance to get back to it.
